Sheiko for Strongman

As a powerlifter I always had good results with Sheiko routines. For awhile I have been thinking about applying them to Strongman. For example with the MS prep routine changing the bench pressing to overhead pressing and placing events in place of the second squat and deadlift sessions on a given day. Example
Mon:
Squat
Log Press
Super Yoke

Wed:
Deadlift
Overhead Press with fat bar
Medium weight stones

Fri:
Clean and Press with fat bar
Squats
Log Press

Saturday:
Deadlift
Delt work
Farmers walk

Of course this is for off season and other accessory work would be used on off days such as sled draggin and prowler pushes. Currenly I can't train like this as I have no access to my stuff as I am currently working overseas. I plan on starting to train like this in May when I get back home.

Are there any strongman athletes here? So nobody has applied Sheiko principles to strongman?

This subforum in general is not very active. MilitaryMuscle I know does strongman, but he doesn't use this website a lot..he is active on IM though..and a host of other strongmen.

Looks like a good plan... I dought you will get much feed back as 99.9% of all strongmen dont have access to both typical gym equipment and SM equipment in the same facilities.

Plus the main thing that such a program would lack is the endurance training that one-day-per-week event training definetly increases (I'm assuming one is training 3-5 events per session and the training sessions are harder then comps). This will be the difference between someone who loads ALL the stones after 3-5 other gruelling events and someone that only loads 2 or 3.

This is exactly where my training lacks big time. I'm strong when fresh, but get me to bang out a few other events beofre I hit stones and somehow the 4th stones ends up bolted to the floor.:D

I will admit I am more of a strongman novice and need to learn the events. I have access to a log, farmers walk, thick bar, and yoke. I know I really need stones but where I am currently working it is difficult.(using EFS stone trainer) I had everything else made by a local welder(I am working overseas) I do have good brute strength but want to start focusing on overhead pressing and events. Actually now that you mention it about the 3-4 events in the same day training that might be a great thing to do every 3-4 weeks. I could go lighter on the during the week stuff and kill myself on a Saturday. The only reason I came up with this is I always had good results with Sheiko type routines for powerlifting.
Thanks
