how many of you guys shit load for at least one meal per week when dieting?
it has worked well for me but i hve been adding some carbs in and im getting harder and heavier, so does that mean shit loading once a week id not needed anymore?

I did it for my last show but wont do it again...Instead I will just carb load like eat a whole lot of sweet potatoes or something..and maybe a jar of Natty PB...
 
For the first 5 weeks of my 16 week show prep I would have one cheat day per week and on that day I would eat just like I was doing a Shitload the night before the contest. But then after the first 5 weeks I switched over to Carb Cycling for the rest of my prep time.

Now instead of one cheat day every 7 days, I have a high(er) carb day every 5 days and followed by a low carb day, then an even lower carb day, then a lowest carb day and then my high(er) carb day.

Each day, including the high carb days are a least 400 calories below my maintanence calorie needs. So I'm actually running a caloric deficit the whole time.
 
Save the shit load for the final prep before the show. If your going to have a cheat day I'd go with adding extra carbs and a few sweets to cure any cravings. I also think a cheat day once a week is too much, a full day maybe every 3-4 weeks, a cheat meal once per week would be more like it.
 
There is no need to "shitload" once a week at the beginning of a diet. That is the time where you can primarily utilize fat for fuel until things stall once in low, single digits. After you are very close to being ready, than you may experiment with the shit load. A lean body is much more prone to utilize all those macro's on refilling muscles and recovery than storing them in adipose. Lower bodyfat = more insulin sensitive. Be ready or close to 4-5 weeks out and than do a few runs. I shitload every sunday this entire off-season because I have stayed lean this whole year. Its the best diet I have ever been on.

Have you tried eating a whole box of honey buns about 30 min before you go onstage?


Good Lord, I filled out QUICK like that. Everyone was asking me what I was on.


I felt like an idiot sitting there thinking "Well, just some test, deca, winstrol and LITTLE DEBBIE!"

I think its a must to help hold on too your hard earned muscle and to look full. It will also shock the metabolisim into burring fat.

dieting is a tricky thing,,,what works for one guy dont work for another.
