Shitty sleep, waking up feeling like a truck hit me

I got up to 260 over the winter and sleep sucked. Sloppy Bulking .. Woke up at night gasping for air. Caused a few nights of anxiety and made it even worse.

Down to 245 now and not waking up anymore but still have the apnea.. When I get down another 10 or 15 lbs it will go away. No more sloppy bulking for me
 
Any position I fall asleep in seems to give me some sort of ache or pain that wakes me up.

I'm fairly certain it's due to weight gain, I had no problem sleeping at 210-220, now at 242lbs, I'll wake up with 2 spots in my spine that feel stretched, my shoulders are locked up and my neck is tight.

I'm currently bulking, so weight loss is taking the back seat for now and I'm sure once I drop weight I'll feel better, but in the mean time, does anyone have some suggestions for better sleep? I can't imagine how guys that are close to 300 sleep. Must be impossible to get good rest.

Shitty sleep and waking up feeling like you got hit by a truck is the exact same thing I feel everyday. It sucks! I have to take a preworkout just to get off the toilet and make it to work on time.
 
an old/worn mattress can cause many of those same complaints due to lack of support.
 
I like sleep on my side. lying on either side should do the trick and help take some pressure off your back.
You can try to sleep on you back and without the pillow, that may can make your spine and shoulders comfortable.
 
I've struggled with the same issues.. I can only really sleep in one position now. On side with a firm tall pillow for head with my bottom arm underneath, a pillow between the legs, and a pillow to throw my arm around... getting used to a new sleeping position takes a min but it's worth it... I guess sleeping on your back is simplest way but sleep apnea becomes more of an issue, especially as you gain weight.



I do the EXACT same...only position I'm 100% able to constantly get good sleep, especally when more bloated and heavier. On my back, can't breath good, apnea stuff, stomach, can't get my arms/ shoulder's out of the way and my shoudler's and neck get jacked. The side without the added pillow between my knees/legs and my lower back and hips get stiff and jacked up, without the pillow under the top side arm, the weight/size of the arm across my chest makes breathing too labored and again apnea symptoms.....

Yet we put all ths effort/ time/ money into getting bigger and bigger, lol. I must be hardheaded..
