Should I Eat the Fat?

When I cook my grass fed beef, I usually wrap it aluminum foil to help seal in the juices, then refrigerate.

When I go to warm up the beef, there is usually about 1-2 teaspoons of saturated fat on/around the burger d/t the cooling. Should I scoop up the saturated fat and put it back on the burger or toss it?

I understand the benefit of saturated fats and their favorable affects on the hormonal system as well as the extra CLA that GFB has. However, my question remains.

Thanks.

No offense, but that sounds gross haha. I would think your getting enough trace amts of fat in the burger already. I'd toss it.

But don't take my word for it. I'm pretty anal about animal fat. If I have a steak, I will trim off ALL the marbled fat even if it mean tossing some good beef out along with it.

You have no reason to be fat-phobic with grassfed. Eating it will only do good things for you. It won't contribute to fat gain unless you are already eating too many calories already. Plus, it's delicious.

Question: Isnt the fat from grass fed beef what you want? Thats partially the reason why you get that kind of meat in the first place, correct?

Yes, but...

Oh of course, I agree. I mentioned that I'm aware of the benefits, the CLA, etc. I just wasn't sure if it might be TOO much fat, that's all.

I think part of it might be psychological actually- the idea of taking the saturated fat and smearing it back onto the burger is perhaps a mental block for me :)

Shouldnt your Macro's determine if its TOO much?
