I can't get around it men. My shoulders crunch moving them around. What rehab/strengthen programs actually have worked and turned your shoulders stability/mobility back to normal? It would be nice to train pain free and have my power back.

Have you had an MRI?
It’s almost impossible to kinda diagnose AND give you a fix to something that just “crunches moving them around.” IF your shoulder is bothering you, I would highly suggest getting some sort of imaging done to see what’s going on. A ball and socket joint is another beast, once it’s fucked it’s fucked. There was just another shoulder thread today where most chimed in saying the same thing. This isn’t a soft tissue injury you can just toss some peptides at and go back to normal. See what’s truly going on.

MRI is scheduled. The crunching is more towards my collar bone. Not directly in my should joint itself. My lat is twitching uncontrollably as we speak. I believe it to be more of an imbalance issue than anything. 🤞

Crunching sounds more like arthritis then a muscle imbalance. But the MRI will tell. I had/have some crunching in a few joints at least some of the time.

I’ve been dealing with an injured left shoulder since December, it’s extremely frustrating, first real weight lifting injury where it’s lingered this long. Rested it completely for 6weeks then slowly started back at the gym in February, lasted about 3 weeks before my shoulder began to flare up again. Went to the ortho, got x-rays that showed nothing but some early arthritis, opted for a cortisone shot but it did nothing. Re-injured my shoulder simply grabbing a plate out of my oven 10 days ago. MRI is now scheduled for next Friday as long as my insurance covers it, i really hope i don’t need surgery and get sidelined for most of this year.

Overlook a shoulder injury you could end up like a lot of us older guys here. Plagued with injuries of which have been left untreated for lots of years and destroy a savable shoulder you will regret. I’m dealing with this right now. The Tough guy didn’t need a doctor routine is outdated. Longevity is huge

Amen to that. Im 40 and was told I need shoulder replacements. Training will never be the same.. I feel like im just working around injuries for the past ten years.. it absolutely sucks. It’s def too far gone.

I had a Dr tell me in my mid 20s I would need a hip and shoulder replaced. I get kept playing football and killing trees for nearly 30 years after I was told that. Now I’m facing the music for being a caveman.

I had a Dr 15 years ago laugh and tell me i was not going to like getting old. But i still aged. His diagnosis was also right.

That’s you in that picture ? Time to bulk up ??

Sorry to the OP.

But hey, ya, that part of my life is over.

Could not give two fucks if you had 100lbs on me, good for you PETE.

I just want you to continue to grow here and my next task is to get you to a 100 messages.

Why are you asking for medical advice her? Whatever happened to seeing a professional. And just cause you hear crunching dosnt mean shit. My whole fucking body crunches creaks and cracks and most of it works great. I’d be more concerned if I heard nothing lol

Im not. Maybe you confused me with OP. I did see a professional and he told me I need replacements, physical therapy is a waste of time, basically just deal with the pain.

Iv also found physical therapy useless when the injury is beyond that point lol

I started doing a 'shoulder warm up' 3-4 days a week before any training. Bought a set of bands from cross over symmetry that I hook to the wall/door frame and do a series of moments to open the shoulder and scapula. They have a few different exercises/movements they recommend using. Realized after doing this for 2 weeks that I have to do it on the regular to keep my shoulders from going back into their normal locked down position. Never thought I'd be using those stupid bands but 5-10 min in the morning makes all the difference in the world!
Also, another trick I have found is getting a weighted jump rope, rouge makes one that is a big blue thick piece of rope that is hard as hell to use for more then 30-45 sec, but if I do 2-3 sets of that before any upper body movements it seems to pull my left shoulder back more into (its more natural position) and I have 80-90% less pain in there when I train.

Finally decided to go for a MRI yesterday, fully torn rotator cuff , fully torn labrum, shoulder bone has “ denting” Just worse case scenario, going to schedule a follow up with my Ortho either Monday/Tuesday for next steps but looks like ‘25 will be a wash for any real training. Definitely feeling a little depressed right now, this is the time of year where i really start hitting my stride through November. Really need to come up
with some type of plan so i don’t just fall into a complete lazy rut all year.

Damn sorry to hear bro, sending power.

Be like Michael Krizo and come back stronger and even more mutated after surgery. He bounced back stupidly quick and he's bigger than ever. Not sure what his protocol was, but his shoulder was cooked. You can expedite your recover with some pharmaceutical aids and in the meantime, learn some skills, read some books, spend time in nature, all the shit us meatheads neglect to do from time to time. Also get massive fecking legs.

Peace

Bro if you rehab aggressively you’ll back in the gym training like normal in 9-10 months. It will suck but you’ll get through it.
