Well guys I messed up my shoulder....My rear delt.....I know it was from heavy rows and doing heavy dumbbells for rear delts....I rested it for about 1 month and came back today and I benched with not to much of a problem but when I did some DB shoulder presses just to see how it felt I could really feel it in my rear delt....felt like no power what so ever and a little pain. I came home and iced it....when I press on it it feels like a muscle. There was no popping noise or any brusing when I hurt it actually I didnt even know I hurt it until I came in the week after and couldn't bench because of the no power feeling. What do you guys think it is? Doesn't hurt when I do rows or anything for back just when I try to do pressess mostly over my head...
 
MAN, SHOULDER INJURIES SUCK....I DON'T EVEN FEEL LIKE I CAN LIFT HARD.

IT IS FRUSTRATING ISN'TIT?! I WENT TO AN ART SPECIALIST AND IT HELPED..BUT I KEEP DOING TOO MUCH AND I AM NOT LETTING IT HEAL PROPERLY. I SORTA CAN'T GIVE IT THE REST IT NEEDS RIGHT NOW THOUGH.

I HOPE YOUR HEALS QUICKLY..:)
 
Thanks JT I don't think mine is serious because like I said there was no brusing...little buffy in my lat but not bad....Last shoulder injury I had took a long time to heal too....:(
 
it sounds as though you have a impingement.. more than likely caused by a imbalance or something structural.. do you do rotator movements?.. if not you need to take preventitive measures asap.. but, without a xray or mri it is hard to say..
 
I know my right lat (the same side where my shoulder hurts) is alot bigger then my left one...What can we do to strengthen the cuff up more?
 
Just search for rotator cuff exercises. External rotation movements are definitely in order. Also, LATS is right on. Impingement no doubt. How often and much do you stretch?? D.C posted a great exercise for tight shoulders and impingemment relief on his board I.M... It has worked wonders for me..

One more: Stop doing shoulder presses:) Remember there are no absolutes. You do not HAVE to do overhead presses to get big delts.. I used to believe the only way to maximize my shoulder girth was to PRESS. Not anymore. Try a higher Incline bench press and find the angle that doesn't hurt. I have been slowly eliminating overhead presses all together and my shoulders have been thanking me. Oh and they are GROWING.. imagine that...:cool:
