Simethicone For distended stomach

do people who eat plenty of greek yogurt (20oz) and sauerkraut (3 cups) need probiotics ? Pineapple, acv too. also, is it True if you heat up the sauerkraut it ruins the good stuff in it/
 
Thank you so much for your help! As you know this distended stomach from gas is crazy annoying and painful. Never use to have this and then out of nowhere 1.5 years ago boom! I am purchasing the TRIKATU now. It’s been recommended by a few now.
been reading about digestive enzymes and what they do when taken on an empty stomach so giving that a try. I noticed the Activated charcoal has me shitting my brains out And pissing out my ass. Not sure what to make of that lol. Is that my body rejecting it or is this stuff actually taking toxins in my body and getting rid of them?? The black shit is strange looking for sure and is Destroying my toilets. Got to clean them all today.
What I know of charcoal is that it is an adsorbent (yes I spelled that correctly) meaning that things cling to it essentially. Is it only non desirables that are clinging to the charcoal such as toxins or are the good nutrients also attaching? I couldn't say for certain but I am caution with activated charcoal and limit how long I take it.

I can relate to your experiences on the toilet but at the time the thought for myself was that there was more bad than good that I was ridding my system of. I just hope that you were thoroughly hydrating yourself during this ordeal and taking in electrolytes.
I would recommend that you discontinue use of the activated charcoal and concentrate on intake of all the good things you are including to your regiment i.e probiotics, digestive enzymes etc.

Now Foods offers a supplement called Candida Support that I believe warrants looking into. I have no personal experience but know people that had positive results.

I politely urge patience. I know how hard things can be having dealt with issues for 1.5 yrs but I wouldn't want you buying so many items at once hoping for instant gratification. These things take time.

Now more than ever should be a good time to drink apple cider vinegar with ample water and a bit of honey.

With myself I have to be careful with fiber supplements as it can exacerbated my gas issues. Thus I focus on increasing fiber via dietary means. Eating Broccoli, esp on an empty stomach, switching to brown rice for a period etc.

The last time I implemented a fiber supplement I did so with small portions and worked up slowly. This was Psyllium Husk powder I was taking.
 
I had similar severe bloating, only thing that ever helped was going strict ketogenic with almost no carbs. I can’t really tolerate very much fiber either, it completely wrecks me, but carbs in general and I feel like absolute garbage.

I’ve been eating a good amount of carbs most of this year, cause I love them, and I’m bloated to where it’s painful.

I’ve also had numerous tests, ultrasounds, endoscopes etc. which show everything to be fine, but the carbs make all the difference for me.

What is your overall diet like, do you use an app like mfp to track fiber? I eat a clean diet and my issue is not eating too much fiber, not under consuming it. I easily get 40g per day but I'f I'm not careful I can get 80 or 90g and feel distended bloated. I cant see where a bodybuilder eating clean and eating carbs would be low on fiber unless on very low calories.

If your doctor has put you on antacids and/or PPIs, look back on your symptoms (other than acid reflux) since then and reflect on how your health changed since then. You might notice that many new symptoms appeared (such as feeling tired, losing hair, developing allergies, etc). This is very common and this is what you need to know about antacids and PPIs.

  • Slow down digestion, especially protein. As explained above, stomach acid is key in breaking down the food and extracting nutrients from it. No acid, no extraction and processing. Undigested proteins can lead to developing food intolerances and not having enough building blocks for your hormones (which are also made from proteins).

Do you use cialis everyday? A common side effect to cialis is indigestion. I get indigestion from time to time, caffeine, alcohol, shitty food. I usually just chew a pepcid complete and I'm good. If I take cialis, and it only takes 5mg, I will get almost uncontrollable indigestion. Pepcid complete supposed to work for 12 hours, with cialis, maybe 6 hours. I have to use a ppi with cialis.

I stopped taking PPI medication years ago when I learned that they hinder protein digestion.

So when this started almost 2 years ago my GI put me on a proton pump inhibitor which is what fucked up my stomach. Not right away but slowly and steadily fucked up the Ph of my stomach. I did some research on them and wish I did a long time ago but I trusted the GI. I found out Pepcid AC is no better and the reason for the acid reflex and distended stomach and pain after eating was from not having enough stomach acid to do the job correctly.
I took some Betaine HCl (Hydrochloride) with Pepsin last night with my last meal and some before bed and I have lost about 2 inches off my stomach in bloat. Holy fuck do this feel good.

I can see the distended stomach has fucked up my abs and actually has spread them apart. There is much more space now down the center of my abs. This makes since as my stomach was distended for so damn long like a pregnant woman. Oh well right happy to have finally figured this shit out.

heating/pasteurizing anything typically nukes a lot of the nutrient value, this is why many stress eating raw, although - there are exceptions in nature where some nutrients are not actually released until the item is boiled/cooked - go figure

I stopped probiotics and am doing kefir and greek yogurt. kimchi and miso soup are great options also. I don't think pineapple has probiotics, it has bromelain a digestive enzyme rather, acv has a tiny bit of probiotic activity but its main warrior fighting for its reputation is acetic acid. ACV has been used for 500 years before Christ walked the earth by Hippocrates in Greece.

I developed SIBO in part due to a food poisoning incident. PPI overuse can cause this too.
This has caused issues with distention and bloating that became VERY uncomfortable and aesthetically displeasing.
If you DO have SIBO, probiotics can make the situation worse.
 
Like b-boy I am a huge proponent of Probiotics and I am glad that you will be adding them to your regiment. I encourage you to rely solely on supplement forms of probiotics (tablet etc) and focus on ingesting foods that are high in probiotics primarily Sauerkraut and kimchi. Kombucha is another option as well as kefir milk if you are fine with dairy (which I am not personally)

Like Muay Thai I too have gerd. In fact the VA rated 60 percent disability for my gastrol issues that became well documented during military service. I can eat super clean and eventually something will go awry. I keep Gasex by Himilaya on hand and actually works when I get debilitating gas. I purchase Gasex on ebay and it ships quickly from India. Simethicone never did much for me.

TRIKATU is an Ayuvedic remedy for bloating which I highly recommend looking into.

In all honesty I never received relief from western medicine when it came to the gastrol issues I've dealt with since a child. Take that for what you will, I'm not trying to come off Hippie Shammy Wammy.

What did you do to correct your SIBO? SIBO is a bitch to correct especially without meds
I finally ended up running the meds...twice.

I thought I had SIBO for sure and took 3 different antibiotics including the antibiotic rifaximin. Didn’t do shit and boy was I pissed just wanted it to work so bad!!!
 
How long do probiotics take to work?
So far today I have found this process to work - I open up a capsule of Enzymedica Digest Gold with ATPro and sprinkled on my food then when finished I will take a Berberine cap.
My flanks are still distended but overall my stomach feels better no pain just distended.

gross, you don't need to do all that, just swallow the damn thing lol. Thats how I administer it to my cats in their water bowls lol.... Our horse vet has us do it for our dogs too works excellent. Im on metformin rn i did all right with berberine. I have pelvic tilt which distends mine + GERD . best wishes homey

For fans of greek yogurt I came across this offering

Word of caution: most greek yogurt products a much smaller amount of active probiotics than one would assume. Some contain none. To quote the Waldo website "The commercial process of yogurt is heating skim milk to a very high temperature, which destroys all active enzymes and probiotics"

As far as I understand the Greek Yogurt should be made with Raw Milk to contain the highest amounts of active cultures. I do not shop at Whole Foods etc, nor can I afford to. Trader Joe's did not have a product that met the requirements I was looking for so I eventually stopped eating Greek Yogurt. When I was eating it I opted for Fage brand.

Those with more knowledge on the subject please chime in, and correct me where appropriate.

In regards to heating sauerkraut: I have sensitive teeth and it is uncomfortable even painful at times when I eat sauerkraut from the fridge.
My goal is to not rely on probiotics supplements and get as much as possible from food sources.

Pasteurized sauerkraut will not contain probiotics. Bubbies Brand is fine and most probiotics that is refrigerated at the crocery store will list probiotics quite obviously on the label. I still always read the entire label carefully to insure that it is raw sauerkraut.

I eat clean but I have to do so in a way that cooperates with my metabolism. I have a fast metabolism so if I'm eating tons of brown rice and raw vegetables for example it is difficult to put on the muscle. Fiber will slow the digestion of carbs so this is why I purposely don't eat a diet that is high in fiber. I actually prefer brown rice and I like steel cut oats but if I'm bulking the stuff just gets in the way.

In likelihood I get most of my fiber from Ezekiel Bread.

Makes sense, I'm the opposite I'm always hungry so I eat foods that fill me up. I do know quest bars have 14g per
