Simethicone For distended stomach

No I don’t smoke weed and yes I already did a food diary and also tried a Palio diet given to me by the gastroenterologist to try.

since I do get relief from gas x I am going to keep for when it’s bad but want to start taking a probiotic at night. I will also drop the Metformin and use berberine and get a solid digestive enzyme.

Its so Frustrating going through this for so long with no answers.
Thank you to all who have replied. Much appreciated!

I do take Cialis and have been for years. I am thinking that is not the issue since I have used for so long and never had issues before
But thank you for the post

bro you should be exhausting your natural resources before going to doc, doc gets paid to KEEP YOU SICK, I have a degree in the field and have worked along side many over the last 13 years. trust me..

Yea it sounds to me like this is not a job for conventional doctors. This has functional medicine written all over it.

What do you recommend?
Tonight I had a naked burrito bowl and took a digestive enzyme and a berberine with my first bite and normally I would be in some pain now but feeling pretty damn good right now. Going to take a digestive enzyme before bed. I hear you can take on an empty stomach and helps in a different way

Like b-boy I am a huge proponent of Probiotics and I am glad that you will be adding them to your regiment. I encourage you to rely solely on supplement forms of probiotics (tablet etc) and focus on ingesting foods that are high in probiotics primarily Sauerkraut and kimchi. Kombucha is another option as well as kefir milk if you are fine with dairy (which I am not personally)

Like Muay Thai I too have gerd. In fact the VA rated 60 percent disability for my gastrol issues that became well documented during military service. I can eat super clean and eventually something will go awry. I keep Gasex by Himilaya on hand and actually works when I get debilitating gas. I purchase Gasex on ebay and it ships quickly from India. Simethicone never did much for me.

TRIKATU is an Ayuvedic remedy for bloating which I highly recommend looking into.

In all honesty I never received relief from western medicine when it came to the gastrol issues I've dealt with since a child. Take that for what you will, I'm not trying to come off Hippie Shammy Wammy.

Personally I know that stress is a huge culprit for my reflux and gas issues.

I am a fan of adaptagens such as Ashwagandha, Rhodiola Rosea and Holy Basil.
The amino acid L-theanine is also good in this regard and even Taurine can have a calming effect.
I also implement Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum) though admittedly just not as religiously as I take adaptagens. From time to time I drink Kava Kava.
I am currently taking Lemon Balm but haven't formed an opinion yet.

You said you tried Paleo, how long did you maintain it.

Long story short I went Paleo after a course of antibiotics messed up my GI tract. I had suffered severe GERD for years, migraines and strange rashes and IBS for longer than I can remember, and I'm 50 YO. Going gluten free eliminated all these ailments in a little over a week. Suffered weekly migraines for probably 40 years....gone. With the GERD I'd wake up at night with vomit in my mouth...gone.

Lost 50 pounds and my body fat is lower than it has ever been.

One other thing I found is complexity of the meal will also contribute to bloating and IBS so I try to not throw a bunch different food at my GI at once.

Definitely try probiotics if you haven't yet! Glutamine first thing in the am, apple cider vinegar, sauerkraut, Greek yogurt (if you can handle milk products), digestive enzymes.
Getting your gut microbiome in order should help tremendously
Big Boy, the apple cider vinegar, how much to take and when. The sauerkraut and Greek yogurt, just eat with meal or snack?

Thank you so much for your help! As you know this distended stomach from gas is crazy annoying and painful. Never use to have this and then out of nowhere 1.5 years ago boom! I am purchasing the TRIKATU now. It’s been recommended by a few now.
been reading about digestive enzymes and what they do when taken on an empty stomach so giving that a try. I noticed the Activated charcoal has me shitting my brains out And pissing out my ass. Not sure what to make of that lol. Is that my body rejecting it or is this stuff actually taking toxins in my body and getting rid of them?? The black shit is strange looking for sure and is Destroying my toilets. Got to clean them all today.

From what it sounds like yes. It’s more like trapped air in my stomach as I am not farting or burping. The simethicone seems to help.
Im going to try this. I seem to have the same issue. I know there's trapped air in there and its just not going anywhere

The digestive enzymes have helped as well. I open the cap and put on the food. Also taking on an empty stomach helped. I have TRIKATU coming but going to some today as I don’t want to wait.

Great posts from you in this thread.

It's worth noting some of the ayuvedic products can be very simple but they have unusual (Indian) names so appear much more complex than what they really are. I am a fan of the himalaya brand (and others) and have tried a few different things over the years. Take trikatu for example and that is mainly just a combination of black pepper and ginger which are very common in the UK/UK and both highly effective. Ginger is a fantastic supplement for nausea, inflammation and indigestion. Black pepper is put in many supplements these days to increase absorption/function of various nutrients. Too much pepper may actually have a detrimental effect for the OP so it's worth keeping an eye on things.

Certainly good point you make about black pepper and it's potential negative effects. For instance from anecdotal experience I feel that I have to be careful how much bioperine ingest. I simply encouraged looking into Trikatu thus I am glad that you included things to consider and what to be careful of. What I know of Ayurveda is that a primary focus is symbiosis of ingredients and having them appropriately dosed.

How long do probiotics take to work?
So far today I have found this process to work - I open up a capsule of Enzymedica Digest Gold with ATPro and sprinkled on my food then when finished I will take a Berberine cap.
My flanks are still distended but overall my stomach feels better no pain just distended.
