Skip loading

I've used it for a couple preps and found it to be an effective technique. I implemented it when fat loss stalled after weeks of dieting with only 1 conservative cheat per week. It got things moving again. As the weeks went by, I increased the cheat window and carbs consumed. The beginning was fun...kill some cravings and a break from monotony. Eventually it's only fun for the first meal or 2. Then it's just force feeding til the window closes.

Edit to add: I used it as a part of the overall diet strategy for the weeks/months preceding the contest. Not sure if the OP was referring to using it as a peaking protocol specifically or a general tool.

Skips methods have definitely changed over the years though.

The ORIGINAL Skipload was time-based. Skip did 6-hour loads, 8-hours, etc.
Those were low-fat and not necessarily eating until you are so full you want to puke. Also remember that this is after 5-6 days of basically low carbs. You are severely depleted by the time you load.

And from everything I've heard from Skip now, he does more of a mix of fat and carbs now. Plus, it's structured—meaning that every load is prettty much the same. If you go eat a burger at a spot during your load, you go eat the same thing next time.

I did Skip loading for my very first contest and ended up spilled (i also had no idea what I was doing haha) Overall, I think it's a very good way to diet down. Kills cravings, felt good, etc. But you definitely need to do test trials before hand to know how your body reacts. I personally like carbs and dont like the whole Cyclical Ketogenic Diet setup, but to each their own.
