the usa championships this year has 140 contestants.. that is awesome.. the olympia has had the prize money raised by $100,000.. the women prize money is also raised.. i just prey that pecker leaves it alone and stick to the enquire magazine..lol..

I read all posts about BB supposedly dying and I think its a bunch of BS. The shows have more competitors then ever, BB boards are everywhere on the net, more people then ever are training in my gym (and getting in the way).

Now I do believe that the BB print mags are struggling because mmost of us now get our info through the net. Plus they run the same old stupid articles and "programs" they always have. People are just losing interest in the magazine format.

Maybe at that advanced level....but my impression is that at the grass-roots, most amateur level, there are less and less local contests, less teens and young people getting into it, etc. More and more, the perception seems to be that competitive BBing IS shows like the USA (or pro ones), not the local contest at the YMCA or sponsored by the local gym. I am not an expert. but my impression is that even some state-level NPC shows are floundering (in no. of contestants but esp. in organizational and promotional support), and that there is decreasing contest activity at that level or below.
