So mri shows I have 5 tears main one that is why I’m in so much pain for 3 months now is a bicep tear where it meets the shoulder.. the other tear must of happened at some time and I paid no attention to it. I did tear one doing 405 in decline years ago with my older son his a Sargent in the army his cyber security for the military.he wa on leave and wanted to train with me and on my 3rd rep I heard a pop and the pain. I still stayed and trains shoulders and arms . I didn’t want to ruin the time with my son. The next day my entire arm was black and blue. But I still kept training and that healed I guess. But it didn’t he said that a complete tear. Lucky for me
He said mri says end are still intact so he can attaché it. So long story in 3 weeks im going in for surgery and his doing 5 tear repairs and something with a bone that is some what f**k too. He said im be in a slin for 3 months no gym at all. I told him im going to the gym and do legs and abs cardio and he said ok with that but I can’t move the shoulder because im rip everything he fixed. So I guess im go trt till I can go back to gym.

He said I was going to be in a lot of f**king pain so I can only imagine. So depressed but at the same time I can’t take this pain anymore and working out half ass too

Damn Primo that sucks to hear that. But you’re doing the right thing and getting it fixed cause it’ll only get worse and you will be in more pain with more problems. I’m sure there’s a lot of us here on this board like myself that have some kind of minor tears and cartilage problems that we just write off as just a minor pain. Stay positive you’ll get through this, it’ll be over in no time and you’ll be back better than before 💪

Damn brother hate to hear that. I had rotator cuff a little over a year ago. I had 2 complete tears, infraspinatus, supraspinatus, partial tear somewhere else and he had to unattach and reattach my bicep tendon. I tell ya that reattach on my bicep tendon gave me a much better peak than I had before. It was worth it. :ROFLMAO: I had some arthritis also. I was in a sling for 6 weeks. I had to sleep in a recliner for 5 weeks before I could ever lay down. Make sure you have a recliner. I SERIOUSLY doubt you will be able to lay down in order to sleep. It sucks having to sleep like that but there isn't much choice. Too painful any other way.

The bicep tear sounds like my wife's SLAP tear, it's like bicep/labrum tear she was off the bone they put in anchors and shaved the tendon ends until blood came out. Recovery was a total bitch BUT she's not one of us, not on gear, and she was pretty functional at 60 days. You'll be fine just don't over do it which you'll want to but only thing worse than shoulder surgery is doing it twice. You'll manhandle the recovery just let your body focus on the shoulder for at least two weeks and use the fuck outta that cold water pump it really helps.

The bone thing nigh be acromioplasty. They shave down the acrimon (sp?) and reattach anything they had to remove to do it. It adds time to the recovery time and a little extra pain. It’s not too bad.

Yea primo that’s what he said. He told me if you don’t get it fixed now in the pain you are in it going to get so much worse. So I’m just going to get it done now and over with

No I’m do exactly what he tells me I don’t care how long it takes . I don’t want to mess it up. Muscle will always come back

Yea I think your right I’m post what he is doing hopefully some of you understand what he wrote lol

He said I have to be on a sling for 3 months. And you are right he said I have to sleep in a recliner that in a bed the pain would be unbearable. Lucky for me I have a sofa that’s a dual recliner so I guess be sleeping in that for some time. It sucks but I look at it once it’s all heals I can finally use my shoulder and workout without no pain . Bro now I kidd you not just breathing it hurts. I have no choice I have to bite the bullet and go through it. The doctor told me in Spanish you going to be in a lot of fucking pain lol

Here is what his going to do
IMG_1778.jpeg

He said it was 5 tears and something in a bone. I was so nervous I was listening but not lol. I got the mri place send me the results. It’s 3 page long and the pictures I don’t know what I’m looking at but to me it looks like a shoulder from the age before Christ. One tear is 5mm the other one is 10mm and so on. The biggest one it 17mm. One says it’s a complete tear but the end of it are still intact so I think he said he can attach it. I’m shitting bricks not going to lie

dang man sucks ass, but damn better get it fixed i kept putting off fixing my elbows and instead of taking maybe 6 months off and getting back i ended up with 2 years of down time.. my dumb ass just sucked up the pain..

I have no fucking clue how they look at those pictures and can see anything. 😂 just looks like a chicken carcass to me

damn man it does suck but i've been there. had labrum surgery in '19, the MRI didnt show how bad the damage was til he got in side. labrum was frayed all around, had to get 5 anchors as well. had to wear a sling for 6 weeks and sleep in a recliner for those 6 weeks. doc said i had some bone on bone, my shits dimpled up like a golf ball.
it took about a year to even press 135lbs again. even to this day my shoulder isnt right, its getting better every year but still i cant do certain lifts.
i'll tell you, the first day you get to take that sling off and stretch out your arm at PT is like an orgasm :ROFLMAO:, no shit lol.
but just think of how good the muscle memory gains will be.

Man I keep thinking of sleeping in my recliner that’s going to suck bro. But I just can’t keep pushing this pain and training like I do

lol man me either if I post up the pics I don’t think anyone here can understand what they looking at 😂 lucky that they sent me pics and then a written statement of what they found . If not I wouldn’t have a clue

Yea man I can’t keep up with this pain and training as hard as I do. I know I’m making it worse

I had 2 tears that were at least 85% of the way off the bone according to the MRI, Infraspinatus and supraspinatus and i had a ruptured bicep tendon as well. Had that all taken in 1 surgury. Was in a sling for a week. But i was not in any pain after the surgury so the Dr said i could take off the sling. It was a precaution to keep people from grabbing my arm or bumping it for the most part. Never missed a night of sleep and stopped pain meds in less then a week. Trained 3 appendages the best i could 10 days post surgury. The time line for recovery was vastly reduced on ever visit i had with the Dr as i was healing quickly. They tend to give worst case scenario's to people. That way people can end up happier with the progress they are making.
Good luck with the surgury. It should go well if you have a good sportsmen medicine ortho from my experience.

Man thanks for sharing that. What a relief to hear. And yea his doing all the tears repairs at the same time. He did tell me I can take the sling off as long as I don’t move the shoulder but to definitely wear it to sleep

Good to hear, it sounded like you were gonna push it and 5 years is a lot to test.
