Theres also a Voltron movie being made with Henry Cavill. Unfortunately I heard its going to suck and that it might go straight to netflix.

It's always a bad idea to take these IP that are 40 years old and are only familiar to that age group and then make a movie thats supposed to appeal to everyone.

I have no idea who green lights these movies but the odds are never in their favor.

I’m a huge MOTU fan and I am cautiously optimistic about this film.

I do like the idea of the connection to Marlena Glenn’s Earth astronaut origin, and it doesn’t look like much of the movie will be set on earth. I also like them poking fun of the whole “he slashed him” working in HRP… That was pretty clever.

The biggest reason I have hoped for this film is one name… Travis Knight. He’s the reason that the 2018 Bumblebee movie was so good. The people on this project have a passion for the property. They grew up with it and they love it. I think they are going to do right by the fans.

Now, that being said, I always hated the cartoon. Even as a kid, I knew what “dumbed down” meant and felt like the cartoon was talking down to me. Yes, nine-year-old me felt like I was being talked down to! I always liked the original mini comics idea of a post-apocalyptic civilization, where Magic was the greatest power, but there were all these pieces of technology laying around that could tip the balance of power at any point and where Castle Grayskull was the perfect intersection of Magic and technology.

Somehow, all of that got lost in the cartoon. The 2002 cartoon was the best version of Masters that we ever got… I’m hoping this can approach being half as good.

If they would just make a G.I. Joe movie that leaned into the absurdity of military sci-fi like the toy line did, it would do just fine. It’s like waiting 20 years to put Wolverine in his yellow costume… Studios are so scared to do the little things that made a property popular to begin with.

I think one of the issues is us who love He-man are just a bunch of old farts, we arent the big market, they are not gonna make a shit ton of cash on us so why spend the money. Look at Fallout thats an old game and the age range it hits is big so there is alot of money to be made there.

Ah ok, havent watched any superman stuff since like the 90´s cartoons.
