The IFBB already institutes a rigorous testing known as "judging".
If they like what they see, they reward it.
If they don't like it, they don't reward it.

I tore my lat doing deadlifts as well with 495. That’s the huge scar i have behind my left armpit. Full rupture.

My honest evaluation of why… too much tren for way too long. Back then i was using lots of tren, minimum 700 a week typically 150 a day. Just stupid shit. I think tren definitely weakens tendons over time. I was using it consistently, no breaks from like 2012-2016ish. I actually didn’t get the surgery until years later, somehow reinjured it doing pull ups even though it wasn’t connected anyway and decided to tell the doc the tear happened right then. Doc never questioned it and opened it up and pulled the tendon up with out a problem and reattached to the humerus

I don't believe tren weakens tendons worth than other aas, it just makes you so damn strong beyond your limits, I used to regularly dead lift more than that and i was way smaller than you and used tren for more years and higher doses but never had any major injuries!

So was 700 a week, or 300 a day? Honestly i should be embarrassed to say it but i did do 400 a day quite often 😳 i used to brew using the crystal method and would brew it at 200/ml. Honestly i really wish i never did that!

I always found tren made me incredibly prone to cramping and the muscle just felt very tight and almost dry. Anytime I used tren as I got older I was afraid to lift very heavy as I felt more injury prone. Its crazy that powerlifters use it so much. Maybe that’s why you see these guys get so many pec tears

i imagine you must have with those crazy test doses you were doing?

I don't know for sure, but I have had two tears or ruptures and both times I was on a good amount of Deca.
One could make the argument that elasticity or lack thereof contributed to my quad rupture as it was about compression of the knee in the bottom of a leg press, just above the stops.
A healthier tendon may have had more to give before it let go.

400 daily? You used to do 2.8 grams of tren per week?

No, but the most i ever did was around 1g or so, but Chase asked if i ever did 300 at a time and the answer was yes!

Maybe the tendon was already weak and the deca masked some of the pain in the area and potential warning signs?

Impossible to know I imagine. Both tore off the patella in a "frayed mop" pattern. Left one took some bone with it, so that actually make me think the were strong but maybe could not stretch before snapping.

Pec tear was muscle belly and not the tendon, which might point to collagen inelasticity.
 
When there is a force strong enough to tear tendon it is also enough force to create an avulsion fracture. Younger people may have an avulsion fracture since their tendons stronger that the bone while an older person would have a tendon tear as that has now become the weakest link due to years of slow degrade. Their is no absolute rule for these things and HM is an example as each knee had different result, frayed tendon tear vs avulsion fracture, with each knee.

When you are injured you look back and try to figure out why it happened exactly. But plenty of people come into my work for quad tendon tear/avulsion fractures and they are definitely are not AAS users. So it happened to people who use and who don't. Regardless prevention like stretching and warm ups are a given. Listen to you body as much as you can but shit still happens.

Branch Warren tour his quad slipping on a handicap entrance ramp or something. I think Arnold fell off a stage and broke his femur...

The stage crumbled beneath Arnold’s feet when posing in South Africa . . . knee cap and ACL if memory serves.

Ok I’m talking about doing 300 a day, 2.1g a week for months
