So we hear alot of guys saying they are on prescribed TRT and doses run from 100-400mg a week.

So my question is what is used to dictate your TRT dose??

In my mind you want a dose that brings your levels up into the upper end of the natural range say 1000-1200. I'm sure that there are Drs that will prescribe doses much higher that bring your levels well above that but just because a Dr prescribed it doesn't mean it right.

So asking you guys that have a script for TRT
1)what is your dose
2)what are your test levels for said dose.
3) what kind of de prescribed it.??
For me personally my urologist prescribed 150mg/wk based off of taking that does for 4 weeks and having blood drawn on Thursday morning with the injection being given on Monday morning and this has my test level in the mid 700's
I have since started taking 20mg a day (140mg/wk) and that has my levels in the low 900's after taking it that way for 4 weeks. My Dr said he would like to see my levels a little lower but said that since it is technically in range and I'm not taking more than prescribed he's ok with it

It honestly would depend on how one metabolizes testosterone.

Free testosterone I think is probably one of the more important things to look for; and properly calculated (using equilibrium dialysis method).

I can use 70-100 mgs a week, and my free test levels are still higher than the reference range cutoff, but I like 150-200 mgs, I'm a little harder, and fuller on the added dose.

For example on 200 mgs of sustanon, I'm at 1240 total T, and 360 Free T. This is obviously not true TRT, but it's enough to stay strong, full, and have decent blood work.

300mg Watson e7D put me at 1379...twice on the nose. 35.6, 39.8 w boron
200mg Watson split into Mon and Thurs injections of 100mg put me at 723 and I didn't feel that great. 22.05
400 Watson I did a couple years ago and unfortunately my levels read >1500 but I doubt it was by a ton since everything seems pretty linear. I would clearly state that in my personal opinion 400mg is absolutely too high for trt from my experience. It just doesn't seem like you can argue that it isn't a mini cycle. >50

As for UGL's i've tested 175 e5d @1018(28.5), 300mg e7d @1174(28.9), 250(125e4d) @974(30.97) but these are not pharmacy products so I like sticking to what I know above. Although, one time in late 2016, I do think I got underdosed Watson since 400mg/wk yielded an 891 total T.

I have since switched to Depo Test from Pfizer and will be re testing next at 200 e5d.

If I could take 150-200mg and be in the 1000-1200 range, I would be ecstatic and do those doses weekly...perhaps even 100mg if I was really trying to go low before swinging the pendulum back for summer/vacation/etc (for example).

Depending on how testing goes and how much more I toggle it to dial it in, I have thought about perhaps one day doing a daily or eod administration...perhaps subq to keep e2 down and maximize trt type results. For whatever reason, it seems like I need a little more T to get to optimal numbers and I have a moderate e2 and dht conversion rate. My free test levels are always around 3% of total. I put my free test values in bold.

So asking you guys that have a script for TRT
1)what is your dose-Prescribed dose is 200mg weekly.

2)what are your test levels for said dose. Works well but I've tried the following stuff over the years trying to optimize. Alwys Free T overly high no matter blood levels. Single injections spike my E2 but not terribly.

70mg with daily injections=400s
100mg once a week=400s
140mg once a week=400s
140mg with daily injections=700s-800s
200mg once a week=600s-1000s
200mg split into two injections=800s
280mg split into two injections=1300s
375mg once a week=1500

3) what kind of de prescribed it.?? TRT specialist

I see an endocrinologist and he prescribes 100 mg/wk testosterone cyp. Two days after injection Im usually in the high 800s to 900 for total testosterone. I feel good on that.

This is a perfect example of how individual this stuff is

Good to see you running such extensive blood work to figure out what works for you

I’m scripted Test Cyp by a Urologist but he’s VERY conservative and told me he wants me in the 600-700 range before I even got tested the first time on TRT (thanks for the warning doc) he scripted me 200mg a first.. I know that being in the upper range like OP said isn’t that crazy and I don’t think has much risk (1000-1200 range), especially being 29 years old...

So what did I do? I took 100mg before my first test (he thinks I took 200mg) and my peak was 800 and despite all other bloods being on point and me telling him I felt great etc he wanted me down in the 600-700 range... Lowered my script to 150mg per week (even though the pharmacy gives me the full 200mg per week in my script because of it being 1cc bottles so nothing changed in the availability of the drug but the dosage recommendation)..

2nd Test I took 80mg 2-3 days before peak test and it came back at 660.. Doc thought it was 150mg.. He was happy with the numbers and been doing that ever since and still getting scripted the 150mg but I really get 200mg...

I’ve only taken the full 200mg a couple times for a few weeks but I actually usually stay in the 100-150mg range split up throughout the week.. I’ve tested myself on 120mg (30mg EOD) and my test levels came back at 950 so I imagine the 150mg I’m right in the range I want to be...

200mg of cyp puts me at 1500-1600 3 days post inj. I respond well. Last year or so I've been doing 150mg / wk with twice weekly inj.(75mg x 2) and my tests have been 1200ish. I have pretty naturally low E too, even at those levels, with no AI E is around 29 or so. I'm pretty lean.

On 100mg 1x a week my numbers are 1100 2 days after the injection 450 before the next shot with the top of the range at 1000. 15mg/day keeps at the low to mid 800's with the top of the range at 900.

There's people giving their numbers, but not necessarily answering the question of "what dictates your TRT dose?"

What made you and your doc decide on that dose?

Is it just an artificial number that your doc likes to see ("everybody should be at 700, or 900, or whatever")?

Is it the level at which you have the best sexual function?

Is it the level at which you have the best combination of good numbers for hematocrit/hemoglobin/lipids etc?

Is it the level at which you just plain "feel good"?

Some combination of the above factors?

Obviously it's not the level at which you are biggest and strongest, or else we would all be walking around on blast all the time instead of on TRT. So what made you and your doc choose that particular dose for yourself?

200 mg/week test u puts me right at the top of the natural range for total test and free test. It feels like the right dose for me based on side effects (none) and overall quality of life. I've been doing this on my own without a doctor for 12 years. I told myself that I'd find a doctor and get a prescription when I turned 40, but I never got around to it.

My doc and I are working to get a better balance between my bloodwork and how I feel.

Base it off of resolution of symptoms. Not numbers.

I am prescribed 240mg/week as my doc knows that some gets wasted in syringe, etc. But generally use 210mg/week for TRT.

The blood test results should put your numbers within the normal range, and should give you quality of life with no side effects. My doc does a test every 6 months to check on relevant factors. PSA is one example of something to keep an eye on.

The range is rather large, and my doctor has been fine with me being near the top end, around 900. Keeping an eye on hematocrit is important too.

My doc is fairly liberal but as long as I'm not way over range I'm GTG. My libido is annoying at times because it's strong when I'm as low as 200s blood levels. My metabolic factors are crappy that low and 800s keeps me healthier overall with glucose and such.

Trt is like 175mg Tbh... Cruise 1mg/pound is a good dose to keep your gains imo.... At LEAST

I went through this last year, and before I was able to see an endocrinologist (long wait) I saw a TRT clinic. Here are my experiences:

1) Endocrinologist will prescribe 100mg to start, which is probably plenty for most. My total T levels were under 100, and I hadn't done any AAS in 15 years.
-This puts me (and most people) in the high end of total T.
2) TRT clinic will prescribe 200mg to start. In my experience they are more 'for profit', and are pushing drugs. Not saying they all are - just was the feeling I got. The Dr. believes 200mg for life is safe, says no need to give blood, no need for an anti E. OK to have high hematocrit and RBC. The Endocrinologist thinks these clinics should be put out of business.

If you have a good TRT clinic they will freely prescribe other items as well. I've been getting L-Carnitine from for fat loss, injectable vitamin B, metformin, gave armour thyroid a shot, and recently I asked for some Deca Durabolin for joint pain. I'm going to try 100mg test and 100mg deca and see if it helps. I doubt an endocrinolgist would prescribe that.

At any rate, I still stick to 100mg of test per week (split into two shots). As someone else above mentioned, if you take Boron 12mg a day (6mg morning and 6mg at night), you're free testosterone will improve drastically by reducing your SHBG. My free test and bioavailable test is off the charts at 100mg. My endo even wanted to lower my test dose down, but I told her I took the shot two days before the labs so that's why they were higher.

I also take Vitamin D (5000iu), DHEA (25mg 2x day), and ZMA at night. I believe all of these also help boost natural test levels as well.

Oh, and small caveat... When I want to bulk and put on some size I can 'blast' at 200mg. This seems like it's plenty for me to grow. Probably helps my receptors stay fresh. I like to add a small amount of GH 2iu, and IGF-1 25-50mcg just to get a synergistic effect of a very small amount of compounds. Seems to work great!

how many hours did you get your blood drawn after you sub-qed 20 mgs?
