Sodium intake

I used to give a seminars with the late Paul Boresen at the end of the 90's, and people would ask me what the best supplement I thought is. When I would say "SALT", people would brush it off with a low tone smirk in the back... Then they would then ask me what the SECOND best supplement I thought was....
I dont think anyone ever took it seriously, and Paul asked me to stop giving that kind of advise, people want to know what they can PAY FOR in supplements and we are in a position to SELL just about anything. There has to be a 'SECRET' out there.
Well , times have changed and Athletes have come to realize that its the hard work, and love of BB that pays off at the end, being that we are ALL friends, if someone was to ask me about supplements, I would give the same advise followed by "try it for couple weeks ,cant loose".

Rogue what brand of Sea Salt w/ Iodine do you buy? and thank you for sharing all the great info in this thread!

I picked up some McCormick Sea Salt Grinder, when I was at the supermarket.
There are many different brands that make Iodized Sea Salt you van choose from.

The Cycle theory was sound if your objective is to build as much muscle as possible in a short period of time.
I'm in stage training now where I dialed in a TRT protocol covering my requirement to feel optimal train hard and recover. I play with other variables like diet and training at different periods in the year to get harder...or bigger.
 
Today I added one teaspoon (2.4 g) of iodized sea salt to my citrulline malate/BCAA drink I have before I train and I felt like I was going to explode. By the end of the workout I looked 10 lb heavier.
 
Increasing my salt intake is one of the better things I have done for my body…..i’m consuming around 8g a day. I definitely have more energy, feel better overall, my training and pumps are a lot better….even on lower carbs. I never realized how important salt is for the body until I started researching it. If anyone is interested….the book “The Salt Fix” by Dr. James DiNicolantonio is a great read. Dr. DiNicolantonio also has a lot of great interviews you can look up on youtube about salt.
 
In addition to the sodium that might naturally be present in food, or the salt you add to that food, how do you guys go about supplementing it? Are you adding it to pre and post workout shakes, combining with other supplements, amounts etc?

Rogue has given some great advice on how to implement it earlier in this thread. But what you did (taking it pre-workout) is definitely a good starting point. I would add it to all my solid food meals but pre-workout is when it works the most of it's magic as you experienced.

Add 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon in my intra drink.
 
would upping potassium threw eating more greens flush out the excess sodium ? I heard that most aren't sodium sensitive but potassium deficient
