Solodyn was recommended to me by my dermo for acne

well, i KNEW my damn dermo would not let me try accutane. just had a feeling before i went there. he ended up giving me epiduo, a cream, and the anti-biotic solodyn....have any of u tried this solodyn?? how long before you saw results? does it even compare to accutane guys?

I used it back in highschool. Honestly it worked great while I was on it and for a period of time after. However, a few years later my acne came back worse and that was before using AAS. Also, it did some damage to my liver. A friend of mine was recently prescribed it and was constantly dizzy along with borderline headaches.

So, it will probably work but from what I have heard and seen it's not a long term fix like accutane.

thanks for the reply bro! how long would u say until u noticed your acne clearing up? how much were you on too, im on 115mg ed

The first time (about 10th grade) I was prescribed 100mg ed (was on the generic minocycline) and when my acne came back about a year after HS I was given 100mg twice a day for three months and this is when I ended up with some liver damage.

got ya bud. do you think i should try and get accutane though? accutane sounds far superior than this shit

I'd say give it a run for a few months and see what happens. It kept me clear for at least a year after running it however I was not using AAS at the time and don't know if you are either. If you are it may change things but I would at least give it a shot.

If your derm suggests doubling the dose if it doesn't work then I would push for accutane.

I sometimes use doxycycline for about a month while running my pct.

Works perfectly every time, clears everything up like a miracle drug when nothing else would work. Ofcourse this is just my experience, I have tried proactive and a ton of OTC creams and scrubs, non of which helped significantly.

I've used doxycycline too. If you have mild acne it works pretty well but it didn't do jack for my cystic acne. Accutane was the only thing that cleared it up.

Also, my friend who I mentioned earlier switched from the solodyn to doxycycline after having the bad reaction to solodyn. They're very similar drugs.
