Some advice for the wife

She did keto a number of years ago and it worked well for her. Since then she has fallen off the wagon and can very easily do so again after a few days. She knows she needs a lifestyle change but a bad day at work or lack of prepped food and she’s eating rubbish or grabbing a glass of wine.
If she has to count calories and weigh stuff then I think she will quickly fold. This is why my thinking is if she can see a piece of steak palm sized or two chicken thighs etc she will stick with this easier.

I was thinking something as simple as

Meal 1 around 11am
2 eggs
1 rasher of bacon
Slice of avocado

Meal 2
Snack based
Two tablespoons of cottage cheese
Some sardines
Small salad

Meal 3
6oz steak or chicken thighs or salmon
Greens
Yoghurt with some Berries
Ok so if you know she can do well on keto then you need to do few things - clean up the kitchen from all the sweets and garbage. Make a trip and buy one month supply of things like sardines , salmon , peanut butter nuts cheedar etc. Week ahead things like eggs avocado veggies. Every night make sure that she has all meals packed for the next day. Get some green tea capsules and put it into her purse so she can take it 3x day. Failing in preparation is preparation to failure.

That’s great advice actually and have just done a sweep of the freezer and cupboards for rubbish.
 
Wouldn't hurt if she found another friend on the trip who wants to get in better shape too, like an accountability buddy, they work out together etc.

Also, making something fun like a podcast she likes while doing cardio makes it so much less painful. Sports? Start playing pickleball or something?
 
I am going to tell you what I tell everyone. Do not do a drastic diet that is very different to the one she is eating now. Rather slowly change it through time so she sticks with it. Do not do diets she won't enjoy long term either. Make it balanced and not an extreme diet. I also know Reta works. I have a friend who is on it, but he is changing his diet too over time so he doesn't depend on Reta long term.
 
My wife is mid 40s and is going away with some friends mid May and is currently very down on herself as she is a good 15lb at least over what she would like to be. She hasn’t been consistent in exercise or eating and she knows it and she was thinking about ozempic or munjaro which I’ve told her is a mistake.
My thinking for her was a low carb 2-3 meal eating plan which I feel if nothing else will help her with water weight and then 3-4 full bodyweight circuit type sessions per week which need to be short as she doesn’t have much free time.

I’d rather she not think about peptides etc as I need to get her mindset locked in and away from a quick fix approach to a,lifestyle change.
Any tips or advice.

I know this doesn't answer you question. And I shouldn't say anything. But I'm going to anyway. Your wife wants to go away with her friends on a trip? That sounds like a bad idea to me. Nothing good ever comes from those "girls trips". I'm just saying.

I’m just echoing other comments but you said “I need to get her mindset locked in and away from a quick fix approach” and “Since then she has fallen off the wagon and can very easily do so again after a few days.” It sounds like her concern for weight loss/appearance has more to do with just looking good for a trip with friends and less to do with looking good every day. I have a feeling whatever you implement will end once she returns home. My only input is not to expect whatever you guys focus on for the next month and a half to continue after the trip if this is her mindset. I do not mean to be rude but she needs to want to look better every day and not just for a trip.
