Some help with new client diet please

So I have a gentleman who is a tattoo artist, and is obviously very sedentary. He works very long hours, which leaves next to no time to prep meals (12-14 hrs a day). He's 6 tall and 280lbs, so quite overweight. He needs to shed weight for health reasons. He has begun a workout regime, and started following a not 100% strict paleo diet. He came to me because he's frustrated he's up 2 lbs after an entire month of working out and eating this way. I need to figure out a meal plan for him that is as "convenient" as possible i.e. least amount of prep/cooking, but also effective (obviously lol) He's kinda picky and needs variety. Not like some of us on here who can repeat the same meals day in and day out. Baby steps for this guy, or he won't stick to it, you know? I can't just get him to start drinking egg whites etc, he'll quit. I was thinking maybe IF??? As long as I have him in a deficit and as healthy of food choices as possible.

What do you guys suggest? I'm open to ideas. He's not looking for a beach body or a bodybuilder, but I know if I got him to drop 10lb or so in a month he'd be ecstatic
 
Sounds like a perfect candidate for intermittent fasting , keep the Paleo food plan just have 3 meals in his eating time.

He may have a very slow metabolism , I know a guy thats 300+ very obese and doesnt eat 1500 cals a day , once he started working out and stopped eating shit it crept up but still very slow.
 
Awesome, thanks for the reply. I'm sure his metabolism is really slow too. A little unsure where to start his total cals at
 
How many calls is he currently eating?

Have him jump on te treadmill or go for a 30minute walk before he goes to work

Have him eat carbs in just one meal post w/o I'd say 3-4 meals

Whole eggs spinach fat free cheese a lot of over weight people like this
Steak and a vegetable he likes
Even lower fat fish fried in healthy fat ( because the fried taste is used to them they generally like it

As for carbs post w/o I find many very heavy people love bread so post workout introduce him to Ezekiel bread and give him a sandwich recipe ( most heavy people continue the w/o because they then get to reward themselves w/ this tasty food) it sounds crazy but that's the way they think
Until they eventually been training for long enough that there muscles are used to getting work and they start to enjoy it.
 
I would get him on a solid breakfast to start with which will jump start his metabolism I assume his eating times are very inconsistent and very on the go type of meals! If you can get him to eat high protein low carbs along with daily exercise I think he would start shedding the weight at a decent rate. Once he see's the results happening he will be hooked
 
It possible for him to get bloodwork done?

get thyroid, hormones etc checked.

What if he has testosterone/thyroid lvls of a 80 year old women.
