some more videos

I wish like hell we had one of those bicep machines, those look like you can get the perfect stretch and pause. Thanks for the videos, definitely helps to see your form.

All videos work great. LOVE the videos Shelby! Motivating.

I love my Flip camera too - so small with amazing HD quality.

They should be working now.

Dude your concentration on your form is freaking INTENSE! I bet there's a lot of guy's (including me) changing up there form after watching your vids. Thanks for sharing, and Keep'em coming bro!

I'll be honest, your last vids made me slow down my negatives to a three count on most of my lifts. I knew it is what I should of been doing but got out of the habit.

Man you scared me on that last rep!! I was feeling your pain as the set was getting closer to its end... ouch!

I also agree with Alfresco on the inverted leg press... I had one in my first gym several years ago, and all i can say is that I truly miss it.

I don't know if you guys in the States realize how lucky you are to be able to train in such places with SOOOOOOOOO MANY pieces of equipment/machines... not even a squat rack in one of the gyms i currently train at...

Intense! I love that preacher curl machine. Great videos

Yah the gym I train at is NUTS. It's the first Powerhouse there ever was, they keep it very well stocked.
More equipment than any gym I've ever been in.

Man, it has been forever since I saw, or have seen
anybody use one of those inverted leg press machines.

I bought one years ago and installed it into a friends
garage where we used it all the time. Problem was,
after doing leg presses, I would get these incredible
headaches afterwards, but soon found a better use
of it, calf presses. Nothing made my wimpy calves
scream more than that machine. (I'm thinking it was
the inverted position, poor blood flow contributing to
the lactic acid build-up or whatever it is that makes
them burn so.)

Anyway . . . thanks for sharing the videos.

Yah it's a great machine, and there's pretty much no assistance like on an angled leg press machine so it's pretty much a straight "squat" with whatever weight you have on it (which saves a ton of time on loading!). My only complaint is that it can be a bit hard on the lower back, but if you position yourself right it's not too bad.

Shelby,

Yes, you are correct about the pad positioning.
Mine came with a wedge shaped back pad
that you could move around, but my hips /
low back, like yourself, was an issue some-
times. But man-oh-man you can really
work the legs, and work past "failure" by
pushing against your legs with your hands.
The best part is when you stood up after
and all the blood would rush into your legs,
they would just swell up and the veins would
stand out in bold relief before your very eyes.

Shelby, don't know if you have used this to
exercise your calves so I would be most interested
in what your thoughts were after having done so.
Just curious to know if this incredible burn and
pump was just me, or if other people experienced
the same thing. Just idle curiosity.

Thanks.

Ours has a slight angle at the back of the platform where you'd have your feet positioned to do calf presses, which kind of screws it up for calves.
I do like doing calf presses on a 45 degree leg press though. We did those today right before the vertical leg press for hams.

AWESOME! Keep em coming Shelby..I agree very inspiring AND looks like a really cool gym!

I too, find your videos VERY helpful and inspiring... Thank you Shelby.

One thing that helps me when I train is to only think about the working muscle. For instance, when pressing (for chest), don't think about your hands and pushing the weight away from you. Think about contracting your chest. On biceps, don't think about your hands. Think about contracting your biceps.
On quads, don't think about pushing thru your toes - think about contracting your quads.
On hams, don't think about pushing thru your heels - only think about contracting your glutes and hams.

Bodybuilding is not about moving a weight from point A to B, it's about working a muscle. Very different from powerlifting.

Anyways, these tips help me and my partners out a lot - perhaps they can improve your training as well.

holy shit I tried this tonight at the gym did chest usually I do pretty heavy weights but fast reps (heavy for me ) anyway I usually go 2 sec up and 2 sec down powerlifting type rep. Tonight I pressed fast but not to fast and held the weight at the top then very slowly did the neg and I held it at the bottom in the stretch posistion then pressed again and I got the best pump in my check I have ever gotten I am going to try this on all my moves and see what happens...

Squeeze every rep! Good Point Shelby. I enjoy your video's!

Which one is it Shelby? I mean where is it located... Clinton Township??

Quick question off topic why are your posts always scrunched up into one big square?
Is it the computer you are using or your signature way of posting?
Just asking makes it hard to follow...

Are you on that machine backwards?
You aren't going very deep-idoes it put a lot of stress on the back as you descend? It looks that way to me in the vid that it would so you can't go very deep...

To me depth is everything in legs, I recently stopped doing 2 leg leg presses and doing one at a time and do it wide and lower my knee (single leg) in pretty much at my ear I can go so low and it murders the thighs...
