Thought I would share this with anyone who suffers with dry eyes.
I have been taking a mucin supplement called Sialex. It says it has
500mg of mucin in it from (sialic acid).
I had in the past year suffered from horrible dry eyes, I was using a TON of eye drops during the day, A heat pad for the eyes, ice for the eyes, and sometimes even the OVERPRICED petroleum jelly they sell for $12!!!!
Well, I had started doing a keto diet recently and I had to stop first try because my dry eyes got 20 times worse, talking tons of pain here. So I did a little research and it turns out a low carb diet can dry up mucin, stop mucin production, or even pull mucin from the eyes and throat to be recycled(so I've read).
I know this to be true because of fasts I have done in the past led to dry sore throat, dry eyes.
So I have been Ketogenic for 3 days now and my eyes are almost 100% because of the Mucin pill I have been taking. If I take it before bed I wake up with extra mucin on my eye lids and eyes that aren't dry and painful. I am sure adding in DHA/fish oil at night would also help.
Feel free to flame or troll.
