awwwww she is so cutee. she is posing for the camera in the first pic. How do you take care of her when you are gone? Leave her in a cage or free to roam in the house.

I ask because I want to bring over my shepherd/ rotty mix. I live in a small apartment and am at work for 8-12 hours a day. ocassionally more. And dont know how that will work out.

I am in the same position as you. I provided her with a very large pen to stay in.

My Beagle, Casey (house dog, not work dog) turned 12 on 06/05/10. The only time he ever got into trouble is when we would "Crate" him. He would pull/push out the bottom of his pen & chew a hole in the carpet beneath him. One time he managed to pull the corner of the Down blanket into the pen... Oh the feathers! When we left him free to roam, he is/was fine. Just put the garbage/cat box in safe place... They live & die by their nose.

Beagles are great dogs. Had one, Daisy, but lost her to cancer complications a couple years back.
Let their nose be their guide. We had a great big fenced yard, she would spend all day on the look out for squirrels. On the ground and she even learned to follow they n the trees.
