SPAM is out of control on this board

Any IT geniuses here that help the admins get rid of all the spam posts? Almost half the the new posts are junk.

Maybe it's not quite half of all new posts, but definitely noticeable. The strange thing is the board asks you a gear related question when you sign up to make sure you're a person so it's not like it's machines doing this. People are actually taking the time to sign up, sit down and post complete nonsense.

I just got tapatalk in the last couple months and wasn't sure if I was just noticing it on this setup and hadn't been on a pc...or if it's been a recent issue getting worse.

It comes in waves, just hit the report post button when you see it and we'll take care of it.

OK great to know Jello. I did that a couple of times but did not want to annoy the MOD's. The spam is just stupid at this point. You can tell it is a person over seas if you watch when the threads are started.

For someone to register, they need to answer a gear related question. The questions also randomly rotate.

Then, they have to be manually approved by a mod.

So, the spammers are real people, that take the time to do this, as bots get weeded out.

I also notice it more on my phone. Maybe the website filters some. A lot of the stuff looks like weird Arabic symbols,

It's not annoying to us, annoying is threads complaining about it and seeing guys whos names never come up as reporting it bitching about it.
