Yep, yep!

And a good morning to you! lol. Facing the squat rack in the morning can be a rather daunting situation!

Wow nice lift...I dont think i could do the barefoot thing...

barefoot morning squats! that's hardcore! love it!

Strong squat. I also prefer barefoot lifting or as thin sole as possible, but due to long legs/short torso, poor ankle mobility and back issues I use olympic lifting shoes with a heel to be able to go deeper with a more upright posture.

Is that the depth you go to or do you go any deeper?

Oh, yes - I wasn't questioning the squat depth per se, I just get a bad conscience when I don't go below parallell even though I don't really have a choice given my structure and hip/back issues.

I was just asking if that is the squat depth he is doing, and how that is working for him :)

Many many years ago when I dabbled with Power Factor Training I would go about as deep as in this picture, then about half-way up for short, fast reps of 20-25 or so. My legs have never been as massive as they were back then. Did ATG squats after that but only got injured...

That makes sense. Unless you start ATG from the get, dropping down below your fully developed range is asking for injury. You're transitioning weight from mature seasoned muscles onto lagging neglected muscles and expecting them to stay in the game puts them to the test.

I keep it in the 80% range

I keep the range in the 80% 10 off the top, 10 off the bottom. My stance is generaly feet just outside of my shoulders but that is where I am confortable. The warmups leading to my working sets establish where my feet will be on that day. I think I go a little deeper then the photo shows, but not much. I always train my hamstrings first so Squats are also the last leg excercise that I do. By the time I get to squats my legs are always warm if not a little tired. In my working sets I never count the first heavy one because it usually is just for me to gage the weight and the effort I will have to give to complete my set. Since you asked how it's working for me I enclosed a picture (not a very good one) from a recent contest of what my legs look like.

Wow, impressive size there...I guess you can say it's working, huh?

So basically parallell or an inch above, which is about where I go, too...
