Stages of fat loss protocols

I am exactly on the other side. After years of experience I have discovered that it is better to eat more and move more than the other way around. Being on a deficit diet we not only have a deficiency of kcal but also minerals and other ingredients and by cutting food we only deepen this deficiency even more so I always rely on more cardio/steps for myself and my clients than on constantly eating less

I have found once I get to around 2200-2300 cals per day I sputter and then keep upping activity. Activity being steps/hiking etc. I would always prefer more food and more activity vs less food/less activity.

What’s the lowest calories you have gone on a cut ?
 
I like an aggressive pull from the start. I already do 20k steps a day so I don’t add any cardio. But I like to get a lot of fat off the first 6 weeks when dieting is easy as your so tired of eating and then add in t3 and clen when things start to slow and start spacing my gh out through out the day

ah fuck, I did that UD2.0 shit a long time ago so that was 1400.

Last year I was at 2300-2400 on my 14 day rolling average for a few months. Steps were averaging 13-14k/day.

I feel my best around 2500-2600 as gym energy, and energy for other things, is much much better. I will probably settle at this calorie threshold this year and just take longer to get where I want to be.

I do this approach as well.

I like to do a decent amount of cardio year round. Good for insulin sensitivity and the heart, plus it increases the calories you’re able to eat while cutting.

I see a lot of people do it the other way where they start dropping calories first, then add cardio later, then the fat burners etc.

If you could hypothetically start your cut at (just throwing out random numbers):
3500 calories with cardio
Or 3100 without cardio

Being able to lose weight on 3500 calories with more food sounds much more appealing. The only caveat is not doing so much cardio that you start going catabolic or losing tissue obviously.

The higher cardio method could also be better for metabolism preservation during a cut as well since you won’t have to crater your calorie intake as fast
 
I was surprised you had more cardio in it as the diet went on. If anything you should be doing less cardio as the diet progresses, not more.

When I diet I usually cut cardio completely by the halfway point because my metabolism is cranking along enough to do the work in conjunction with my caloric deficit.

I always looked at it like this - what requires more energy, doing cardio or eating less? Obviously it's doing cardio, and we want to preserve as much energy as possible in a cut. Your diet should be your main route of fat loss, cardio should just be a fat loss supplement.
Likewise, using diet as an anchor keeps fat loss simple with less stress and guesswork.
 
My biggest hurdle is the psychological one. Everything in my life is all or nothing (yeah, I know, not the best approach, but it is what it is). So when I start a cutting regime, it is balls out from first meal. Everything at maximum. Even my choice of food does not vary. If I make the smallest variation, especially in food choices, I find myself falling off the tracks. Absolutely no variations including no cheat meals.

Ask K1 who dieted with me for 8 weeks last year - the pussy couldn't handle it - he claimed that he was sticking to it with me, but then photos surfaced of him sneaking to my mum's house and eating her cakes :D

I go all out from the first minute and if I feel that there is lean tissue loss, I simply increase protein.

This is basically my mental state. On or Off.

I wonder if hitting a diet hard, for less time, results in less muscle loss compared to a "marathon" approach especially if combined with certain drug protocols.

Same, I am nowhere near the man/human I need to be when I am in full deficit. But good macros and enough calories equals more activity for me (and nobody dies those days too, there is that 😆 )..
 
I prefer to do a long 16 week cut to try and preserve as much muscle as possible
