Also... he believes (as do I for what it's worth).. that diabetes and insulin insensitivity is caused NOT by sugar/carbs.... but by sugar/carbs in the presence of Fats.. specifically PUFA's.... He then explains the Randle Cycle.. interesting stuff. I'm no expert but all of this makes a ton of sense.. He really is a wealth of knowledge that I think the BB community could take advantage of.

The real idea behind his diet (which in reality was formed based on the writings of Dr. Ray Peat)... stimulate metabolism thru frequent carb meals including sugar (OJ), Improve digestion/endotoxin (OJ, Raw Carrot), and most importantly eliminate as much PUFA (Polyunsaturated fatty acids like vegetable oil, Canola, etc) from the diet as possible as these are catabolic, destroy health and metabolism....

Another thing Ray Peat strongly advises is keeping Serotonin to a minimum.. and dopamine levels high. Has been working great for me. I follow Ray Peat more so than Efferding tho.

Browsing the RayPeatForum or functionalps will help you decipher some of his long winded writings...

It's 2018 and we really know very little about serotonin and dopamine. For how many drugs they prescribe you would think we would have just a little better understanding of the mechanism of action. Especially serotonin
