it's not only something with evidences but it's something that we see on people, we see differents body types , we saw differents body types with our eyes during our lives. You’re just describing calories in, calories out now. Yes BMR and NEAT change person to person and will result in a different caloric surplus/deficit. Unfortunatelly most endomorphs enter strenght sports like strongman, weightlifting, powerlifiting so bodybuilding is full of the skinny guys that want to get huge and muscular.
