What strategies have you used to manage hunger while dieting?
Any strategy you've used, whether "lean bulk" or contest prep goals would be much appreciated.
Some things that have worked for me:
- Ketogenic diet: Carbs seem to make me hungrier. While they are a performance enhancer, I'll trade the performance for less hunger at this point.
- Stimulants: These are very helpful until about 5pm when you cant take anymore...and they seem to burn out my CNS after about 3 weeks of continuous use. (DMAA, ephedrine, excessive caffeine, etc.)
- Kratom: best appetite suppressant I've found...but i think it messes with the gut microbiome.
- Meditation: still working on this one. I'm trying to learn how to separate the emotional distress from the physical discomfort, which is WAY harder said than done.
