strict form?

Is there such a thing as being too strict in your form??? while you lift??? like on bench or side lat raises?? will this hamper my growth??? because i dont cheat or swing the weight and use the neg to my advantage???:confused:

I dont bounce the bar off my chest and dont lock out its a 5-7 sec neg and a 4-6sec pos on bench
 
wouldn't want to do that rep scheme all the time...like anything your body adapts.....depends on the exercise for me usually....I do bench moderately strict....moreso when i'm going for a max of course
 
Well it seems to me if you get sloppy , you get hurt i always thought this was bodybuilding not ego building but my fom is just tight there are days when i get sloppy but my sloppy and someone else's sloppy are night and day,i just want to know being tight in form, will this hinder my gains????? but thanks for the reply I hope this question isnt to dumb to ask but every day we learn!!!!!
