I HAVE BEEN TRAINING FOR APPROX 3 YEARS AND HAVE SEEN SOME GOOD GROWTH BUT MY TRAPS SEEM TO BE A BIT STUBBORN, IM 6'2 AND 215LB.MY TRAP EXCERCISES CONSIST BASICLY OF SHRUGS (HEAVY AS I CAN HOLD)
AND CLOSE GRIP UPRIGHT BARBELL ROWS.WHAT AM I MISSING ??:confused:
ANY IDEAS ?
 
use straps, also for me band shrugs have blown my traps up like non other. get some powerlifting bands, attach them to each side of the barbell, add your weight and enjoy.
 
Heavy partial deadlifts will grow big traps and upper back.

I've had good luck training traps on both back day and shoulder day, utilizing different movements on each day. Typically all bb/db shrugs on back day and a combination of shrugs/upright rows with varying grips on shoulder day.
 
dang. yeah man i have the same problem. Im gonna give these suggestions a go.
 
I have never seen someone who can deadlift or rack deadlift a shit ton of weight that has small traps. Look at some pics of dusty or bboy, they both move a ton of slag iron and i would say that their traps are FAR from underdeveloped.

So drop the direct work and start deadlifting=-)
