Hey guys.

What used vehicle would you get as a student.

it need to be fuel efficient. So no trucks. also need to be a 4 door automatic transmission.

It also need to be reliable, so no repair just pus gaz and run it.

I made a list of used vehicle.

2012 Camry 4 door sedan
2016 Civic 4 door sedan
2013 CX5 fwd 2.0 engine
2013 Nissan Altima
2014 Subaru Forester 2.5 engine

Which one would you get in that list, Any other suggestion? Im leaning toward the 2016 civic sedan or the camry but not sure.

I’d take any except the Subaru. I picked up a Nissan Versa for my daughter when she went to CSU, we still lived in Commiefornia. She abused it for 6 years and it was still solid.

I'm a huge fan of Toyota, especially the Camry. In my opinion, can't find a much better car. Subaru is awesome but can be pricey to repair, that's why you normally see upper middle class driving them. Nothing wrong with Nissan or Honda, but when it comes to Japanese, I pick Toyota above others.

Pretty sure that year Nissan has the CVT transmission which is part of class action law suit because it sucks!

Does the area have inclement weather? if so I would get the Subaru. Otherwise, the Camry or civic.

The Camry Or the Civic.

I'd go for the Civic. Newest one out of your choices. Fairly reliable. If anything goes wrong, lot's available parts for cheap. Only one downfall is check out insurance, some areas Civics are considered high risk for auto theft and have higher premiums.

And this is unbiased opinion based on your options, in reality I hate civic drivers lol

I'd get the civic, and it's not as old as the others so should have lower miles. If you live in an area that gets cold and icy in the winter then I would consider the Subaru. I have a neighbor that loves their Subaru. My best friend has one too. That subaru is all wheel drive, right? If not then the civic is the clear winner.

id go to consumer reports and find out crash test ratings and overall dependability for the ones ur looking at...and go from there

civics ride like dog sh it and camrys are pretty comfy... both last a while as far as mileage is concerned...subaru...if u drive where u need awd,

dont forget to check maintenance costs as well as availability of parts...

Matt how many different times are you going to make this same thread and then never reply?

What happened with your last list of vehicles?

I'd go for the Camry or you could get a Corolla. My wife has a 2006 Corolla for over 10 years, and the only real repair we've had to do on it is service the brakes. Other than that it has just been oil changes. Toyota has an extremely good track record with most* of their cars being very reliable IMO.

The way things are going now I would recommend getting a hearse to make some extra cash on the side. Not very fuel efficient but that can be made up with the extra cash earned and writing off miles or gas.

I've owned multiple Toyota Corollas. Cheaper than Camrys, great on gas, and perfect for a student.

The civic for sure!
