I feel for myself that when i sumo deadlift as opposed to normal deasdlifts that i hit my hamstrings and abducter adducter muscles much more than back. Im also stronger on sumos than typical deadlifts.

anyone else feel the same way?

What are your thoughts on which is better from a back building, bodybuilding standpoint?

You are correct. You do hit hamstrings and glutes more with a sumo stance. If you want to pull more weight, use a traditional stance. If you work on it, you will find that your poundages go up very quickly and you will soon eclipse your sumo poundages.

Watch videos by Mark Rippetoe on YouTube for perfect technique instruction.

I think you will get more lower lat, erector, and trap development from traditional style deadlifts.

I'll be deadlifting sumo ONLY to bring up my hams and glutes, as you know I need to do. :)

It definitely works your hams harder. Been doing them last 2 leg workouts and I can only pull 405-455 for sets of 5. Regular deads I can pull 500-550 for sets of 5.
