Injury, yes
As an injury rehab protocol, it works well. You use a ten second lift and five second lower, so your weights will be cut down dramatically.
As a size or strength protocol for unijured bodybuilding it worthless.
This was an outgrowth of something Nautilus did called the Osteoporosis Project with a bunch of elderly people. At least one prominant pro had his career almost destroyed following Darden with this notion, and a number of other good bodybuilders gave it a try before giving up in disgust.
Use it for your injury, and as you get better, start adding weight, and resumming normal training.
