Cholestatic Jaundice and IgA Nephropathy Induced by OTC Muscle Building Agent Superdrol

Over the counter (OTC) medicines are commonly used in the United States despite a lack of scientific evidence for clinical utility and toxicity associated with their use. A case of jaundice and IgA nephropathy as a consequence of use of a muscle enhancing OTC supplement that was advertised as innocuous with no hormonal activity is described. IgA nephropathy has not been described previously in association with the use of testosterone. The case highlights that, besides adulteration, the misrepresentation of chemicals present in OTC medications and supplements can create confusion and a false sense of security with their use.

Sounds like this patient was predispositioned for Cholestatic Jaundice already since his infancy. IgA nephropathy and chronic renal failure go together hand in hand, and it is on this basis only that i ask AND I wonder what were the abusing total amount of mg's this patient was taking in daily?!

I haven't seen the abstract but ...

It is my understanding that he took in a total of 720 mg over 6 weeks. Just a slight over kill, huh?

thats only 20 mg's a day i did 40 and felt good.

I used superdrol for 2 weeks @ 30 mg. I stopped early cause I felt like crap the whole time I was on it. I was constantly tired and had just an overall feeling of sickness. This is why I am considering injectables. Better results, and from what I hear, better sense of well being.

i'd rather go with whats been used for years and all the side effects are known so i'll stick with real gear.

We don't know what else the patient had used and/or abused in the past. Does he have an affinity for orals and used other drugs for years? Who knows. I've never taken superdrol.
