Suppressing igf ahead of test

A friend of mine is trying to suppress his igf leves ahead of a blood test so that his insurance will cover a gh prescription (he already has a willing doc)

Has anyone had success in doing this and/or able to suggest a protocol?

His plan presently is to take gh for a month or two with the theory that there will be able before his endogenous gh production resumed following cessation in which case he might have a period of time where igf levels are below normal.

I told him I was skeptical that this would work since gh suppression is not complete and doesn't seem to work with the same logged recovery as does hpta or even thyroid

My research has shown that nolvadex lowers igf as does fasting for several days.

Any thoughts, suggestions would be much appreciated

Tell your buddy congrats, he is the one millionth person to think of doing this.

It doesn't work, GH doesn't work like testosterone, taking it won't suppress your natty levels at all.

IN ADDITION to this, insurance will NOT cover GH, even if your levels are low.

Nolvadex. Albeit slightly, and it can also raise serum test too. So this should be kept in mind.

A popular theory (supported by at least one journal study) is that nolvadex is supposed to lower igf-1 levels becuase it acts like estrogen within the liver, as an estrogen like metabolite, thereby binding to and acitivating E receptors in your liver. Estrogen acts acts as one of multiple signals in your liver to lower the production of igf-1. 

Correct me if I'm wrong wizards! I'm working purely from fuzzy memory here.

Kaladryn is right otherwise though. It's probably pointless as most carriers won't cover it unless you have a specific condition. Supplementing low levels from normal aging is generally not covered (like TRT can be). It also assumes they'll do an igf test rather than just a simple gh serum test.
