Supps to treat ED

Green MnMs.

It took me a minute LOL!! I remember hearing this back in high school that eating green M&M's would
keep your pecker hard. If things were only that simple.

Kinda like the Spanish Fly fairy tale. Don’t give her too much if you have a stick shift and she’s in the car.

I've definitely experienced this to be the case. Very shortly after starting thyroid hormone my ED issues disappeared. Quite the "Aha" moment.

Yep. I didn't realize until recently. I can't wait to fix my thyroid. No more Cialis dependence

I've had success with taking 12 mg of a combo iodine/iodide pill, and don't need thyroid hormone anymore, but that is very individual, and high dose iodine can be counterproductive for some with hypothyroidism. And yes no more dependence on Cialis with the accompanying heart burn and stuffed nose is great. Hope you get your thyroid figured out! I think it is a lot more common than most people realize.

Curious, did you have hashi's too or just an iodine deficiency/low thyroid hormones? And are you still taking the 12mg combo everyday?

@nothuman - I have similar issues as you with ED and was diagnosed with hashimoto's and have been playing around with hormone levels, while it made a difference certainly for energy, not so much for ED but seems I have a lot of other issues going around in the background(deficient in most adrenal hormones, although cortisol isn't bottomed out like your situation.)

When I spoke to a few of the top TRT doc's they all said the same thing about needing to bring up all the background hormones which I was deficient or had none of showing up on bloodwork(pregnelone, DHEA, progesterone etc) to feel better, some recommended a good dose of HCG which I'm trying now and others a preg/DHEA/high thyroid combo, I decided to go ahead with the HCG fairly high dose(plus trt/low dose gh/same t4/t3 combo i was on) and a high fat diet first to see if my body can figure it out on it's own. According to them this SHOULD regulate all the background hormones/cortisol etc

Most recommended I switched over from t4/t3 combo to dessicated and one thought it was important to supplement a good dose of iodione along with it.

Anyways good luck man, I know this stuff sucks, hope it works out for you.

I am seeing a naturopath who says I have "T1 deficiency syndrome" a genetic condition that he also has. I cannot find any information anywhere about it, but the treatment he has me on is working. I am also taking Min Tran by Standard Process, 4 tabs twice per day, and the naturopath has me eating large amounts of coconut oil, grass fed butter, and green vegetables. I tried working with my PCP on this, but he just tested my TSH, and when it was low normal he said I do not have Hypothyroidism. I have not tested my thyroid hormones beyond this, but did experiment with T3.

And yes I am still taking the 12 mg per day. I also use peptides and GH which I suspect increase my body's need for iodine. I have read multiple times that high dose iodine can cause thyroid damage in Hashimoto's, so definitely be careful on that one.

Thank you. iodine is definitely a key player in thyroid health. My level is currently 52 (40-80) so I’m in range.

Yea it’s much more common than realized.A large part of the reason is 90% of endocrinologists weren’t trained properly and fail to give patients a full panel thyroid test. The other major reason is the normal ranges for those tests are heavily flawed.

I can absolutely relate. I also wasn’t showing any pregnenolone levels and DHEA was lower end of the normal range.

as for the thyroid, compromised adrenals in the case of late stage (low cortisol) like you said will prevent thyroid from repairing even with meds (I tried and it only raises my reverse T3 even more). But also, iodine, zinc, iron, and selenium need to be high enough for thyroid to recover.

Are they advising you to take more DHEA and Preg? We're you already using 25 mg of DHEA?

I was using 25mg DHEA alone but then I found I had no pregnenolone. I switched from DHEA to pregnenolone because last time I used both, my DHEA was way too high from the pregnenolone converting to DHEA

Citrulline raises arginine levels more than arginine itself. Citrulline as opposed to Citrulline Malate since it's the citrulline you're after... besides I've read that most CM is just a mix of the two compounds as opposed to what it's advertised as (fraudulent).

Dopamine boosters might help some ED issues though it's mostly related to libido. Though I have a theory that helping one can help the other. For example some report that Viagra increases libido, which it's not supposed to - but I think if you're rock hard you may feel more horny. Mucuna Pruriens works to a degree IME as it contains L-Dopa which coverts to dopamine. ALCAR has a mild prosexual effect as well IME through neurotransmitters but it can increase blood flow too.

I recommend examine.com for an overview on whatever supps you are curious about.

Does ALCAR really have much of an affect on blood flow?

One thing I know that hasn’t been mentioned, and it might not have been an issue with anyone here is Kratom. I found back in the day that prolonged Kratom use killed my libido....after stopping its raging high.
