Any idea if you can buy synthetic cortisone shots instead of having to go to the doctor?

Any particular reason why you'd be in the market for it? In the big picture of things those shots are just a quick fix for whatever underlying problem as well as the detrimental effect it can have with you immune system, degradation of surrounding tissue like tendons and ligaments.. Im sure with all the various online pharmacies operating out of the US I dont see it being a hard find with a little bit of effort but again in the big picture whatever the underlying issue is should best be handled directly instead of using a quick fix to remedy the issue for the time being. I've personally had one shot for bursitis in my shoulder and can understand the application since the shoulder bursa in quite deep so the immediate relief along with the adequate amount of rest time like 3-4 or more weeks before doing light rehab exercises/activites to resolve the issue entirely but I have came across a few people in my time where for whatever condition after getting a few quick fix shots they were ultimately left with requiring surgery or more extensive treatment due to ineffectiveness the shots are the more frequent you require them as well all the havoc they can reek on your body in general.

I have always had "tennis Elbow" and have seen my doctor several times about it, but recently it got so bad, this after resting for a few weeks, that i could hardly open a door with either hand. My doctor before talked about giving me the shot of the synthetic version because it was not as bad for you. My insurance sucks and I have a high deductible so I figure might be cheaper to do myself. But I am up for any suggestions!

Its a quick fix< but it is very degrading to the tissues in the area where the injection was given. I wouldnt reccomend having it done more than maybe once or twice in the same area. I would work with a good sports therapist or art practitioner and see if you can fix the issue

how do you search to find local art practitioners? when i search by my area i get a bunch of info on art and body art. IS there another key word I hsould be putting in?

Never mind searched by active release treatment and found a website that lets you search for providers. Thanks for the help.

I paid $200 cash, no insurance for an exam, xray and cortisone shot into my shoulder.

I have thought about doing it myself but it really shouldn't be used very often.

200 bucks isn't bad for an ortho exam and opinion.
