4 weeks 200mcg of T4 after 4weeks 50mcg of T3 raised my troponin enough to warrant a 2 week stay in the hospital. I was hyperthyroid to the point the standard blood pannel didnt go high enough. My ejection fraction rate was down to 35. I had no stimulant use prior, I do question if the thyroid was overdosed.... Fault is my own, no doubt.
I'm not sure you can talk absolutes about different body systems. Im quite aware of your education/background but I dont believe thats the correct stance on this mater.
Yes my statement was very crude and brief, for a reason. If you really want me to correct myself "You very much need before and after blood panels, especially when assessing thyroid "
I had my thyroid removed over a decade ago...it took them YEARS to get me normal. They started me on 175 mcg of synthroid after the surgery 3 months later I was in the hospital 3 months later snapped my patella slipping on a stair.
On a hunch, the ortho ran a thyroid panel and there was no thyroid in my body with a TSH of 50!! During my 16 week rehab - I lost 35 lbs, skin dry hair falling out-was still training. Went to endo after endo finally after multiple upgrading of the doses which settled at 400 mcg of T4 and 10 mcg of T3 (5 MG BID) my thyroid levels are on the high end and TSH is almost 0.
After my thyroid levels returned to normal through synthroid etc I gained back 35 solid pounds that I lost very quickly.
