So im seeing almost zero traffic in the female forum section and dont really feel like surfing on other boards...this one is my home. So here it is again 1iu gh/day solid diet/cardio program. Not super low carb yet. Which do you vets think is best for women? I would assume t4 since its not as harsh to tissue but I have no idea on an effective dose. ive taken t3 and know it work but am sorta scared of a female taking it. I think she may have a bit of a sluggish thyroid its pretty hard for her to lose weight despite strict diet and cardio. she responded well to a low dose of dnp but I dont want her takin that crap all the time. Any ideas for a dose range would be GREAT and appreciated! Also, is 1iu gh/day sufficent or should she bump it to 2iu/day? thanks guys (and gals) :D

I sent you a reply.....

I did see that and thank you for the reply but it didnt really answer my question, seemed to be aimed more towards the donker. and a dose range wasnt there. im just lost when it comes to this compound especially since she isnt taking anabolics.

If you feel her thyroid is sluggish, have blood work done before she goes on anything. I explained how ther T4 is pretty much useless and you risk possible muscle loss on T3 if she isn't on anabolics.

It takes 4-6 wks for T4 to build up enough to see a difference, is she willing to wait that long for something that probably won't make much of an impact? T4 really isn't any easier on muscle catabolism, it just takes much longer to get the dose right. If its too high at the start, it's still going to be converting for wks even after discontinuing unlike T3 which is out of the system fast. Plus like I said, she will probably end up with very high T4 levels and moderate T3 levels. High T4 levels are going to have more side effects and less of an impact on metabolism.

Many people here will not agree with me, but a low dose of DNP as long as you monitor temps and dosing correctly is safer than T3.

She could be fine on 25mcg of T3 or she could drop a lot of lean mass fast, there's no way of telling.

oh I totally agree with you about the dnp bro. After you sayin that, I was thinkin 200-300mg dnp/day and ramp up to 50mcg t-3/day....too high? she may be willing to try a mild anabolic if muscle loss is a factor. which one you think would be best?

the body makes t4.. it then converts it to t3.. why anyone takes t4 is kinda beyond me.. why not cut out the processing the body dose and just take t3? women.. men.. anyone.. 25mcg a day of t3 should be fine.. 50mcg at most

Here is a link that talks about this. The research shows thay hypothyroid patients actually need a combo of T3 and T4 to do best. T4-to-T3 Conversion and Hypothyroidism: Medical Journals / Alt.Support.Thyroid Newsgroup Website

Looks like some of those people lack an enzyme that converts the t4 into t3. armour thyroid has both in it. http://www.frx.com/pi/armourthyroid_pi.pdf

Perhaps she should seek help from a medical doc if she feels there is a problem. Health insurance will cover it and she can take care of it the healthy way rather than self medicating.

I'm a chick, not a bro. ;)

I wouldn't do DNP and T3.

What is her diet and training routine like?

Have her research the hell out of anabolics before she takes anything. Women need to do some serious research before taking anything even mild, to fully understand the side effects and dosing. Even a small dose of var can have sides.

im also a chick and have run dnp and t3 together lots of times.. ur hot either way the t3 really doesnt make much of a temp difference

I'm not saying its dangerous, I just think the OP is getting too wrapped up in adding in drugs rather than posting his GF's diet and training.

ah sorry i was at work and skimming hehe diet and training are more important then any chemical that can be added that is for sure

Exactly!! You need to have her see a good doc who can do some lab work first to assess not only the thyroid but all the pertinent hormone levels in order to both establish a clearer picture of what is going on and establish some baseline values. From there, if she needs some thyroid replacement the Armour thyroid is going to be your first step and then if that is not sufficient than many times they will add in synthetic T4, all the while monitoring levels.

I always hear people saying that T4 just converts to T3 so why not just take T3. In many people this will work. However, in some people the synthetic T3 is metabolized by the body into T3R(right-handed) instead of T3L(left-handed) which can cause problems as the body will only respond favorably to the T3L(this is also why T3L levels need to be assessed as part of the lab work first as sometimes the body itself manufactures T3R instead of T3L and if the lab work only looks at T3 it will show normal. This is somewhat rare, but nonetheless needs to taken into consideration as many times things are missed because people weren't thorough enough).

For a small group of people, Armour doesn't work. I was on 4 grains (60mg per grain) and it did nothing for me except exacerbate hypothyroid symptoms. It was very frustrating for me as I had done a lot of research and was convinced that it was the best choice. I was switched to synthetic T4 and T3 and ended up doing much better. But still had a very slow metabolism.

didnt mean for it to come across like all she wanted to do is take stuff but she trains 5 days a week with weights then cardio for about an hour.
her diet has a little over 100g's protein everyday, no simple carbs, mostly carbs around workout, very very few carbs at night, if any, almost zero dairy. added fats would be a couple tbl spns natural pb. Its hard to say for sure since i cant babysit her lol. I think if anything she isnt eating enough.

What does her weight training look like? How many cals in a day and what are her stats?

im not sure I give her structure but dont know how much she is pushing herself. cals are probably not enough. shes 5'4'' 145. all i know is that she doesnt eat like shit and gets at least 100g's of protein a day. im not really around so it hard to say for sure but with her job im sure she ends up skipping meals every once in awhile. she naturally has quite a bit of muscle shes just frustrated sine the fat isnt coming off no matter how she eats.
