I unfortunately and some tats on my shoulders, front delts, down spine and one on right calf, my trainer is telling me that judges can be harsh at the NPC shows on tats, how much of nuisance is it considered at shows, doing my first show in April 2011 and considering trying this new cream to get them to fade, any feedback would be great. thanks

I've done several show (local and some qualifiers) where tats abounded and it didn't seem to matter. I know a guy that did they Ronnie Coleman and was heavily tatted and won. Be proud of who you are and what you have. Screw the cream. Your tan will diminish the impact of your tats.

Ditto

Yeah I don't have a prob with my tats, they are who I am, just heard some judges are apt to dock you for it.

It can be distracting to the judges. Your best option is to use a good tanning cream that is dark enough to shade them out a little. I personally recommend jan-tana products, they always seem to look the best. You may have to put on extra coats. This will cost you some extra dough, but a few weeks before your show, test out some different colors to see which works best. The day of the show is no time to find out that your color isn't any good.

All of mine are gray ink so they dont show hardly at all under a dark tan.

Yeah tats dont equal points, got to fix this, especially where mine are, and are solid black.

How big are they? Do you think they will be distracting?

If they are large, I wouldn't suggest trying to cream them out. It ends up looking worse. I have a large tattoo that covers my upper arm, shoulder, and part of my chest and rear delt. It is distracting, but I've placed in every show so it's not a make or break. If you have the best physique, you have the best physique. I wouldn't sweat it

I am very heavily tattooed and have never had and issue. In fact judges have complimented me on them and reassured me that as long as you are in condition it doesn't matter.
