well....back then it was bench day (not chest day)
and squat day (not leg day)....and deadlift day (not back day)
totally different way of training and thinking, which now i have evolved it
alittle but STILL do some of the same things today

bench day was flat barbell EVERYTIME first thing
then inclines then declines....almost every workout for years...3 sets each
lol....they would laugh at me for posing in the mirror and for doing (extra)
sets of cables and flys and shit like that...they called me pretty boy

squat day was about 10 sets of squats
then sometimes leg press after....sometimes workouts were over 2 hours

deads day was about 10 sets of deadlifts and usally lat pulldowns or chins
at the end.....deadlift day was my fav. 10am on sundays
the gym opened at noon they ALL had a set of keys
we all came in early, cranked up AC/DC and went to town till noon
lol....it got pretty intense.....nothing like a bunch of fucking grown men
screaming and spitting and puking....lol, one guy would ONLY pull deads
in his underwear and barefeet

good times.....good times

Good stuff Tenny, I just like hearing what the more 'experienced' guys used to do and what they did to get them where they are now.... old war stories I guess. Just find it interesting. The underwear and barefeet guy sounds like a this old pl character I know...guy is straight off his rocker but still beastly strong at 50+

Will for sure get you some pics, conditioning was on point for sure just still need more size even for a natty. talk w/ ya soon.

Damn!

That physique at 20 is amazing- great lines/symmetry. I hope you can figure out how to either compete again or just get major $$ sponsorship for all your efforts.

lol....he was the winner going in

i remember the judges telling me to do the open
and i was scared....lol.....so i did the novice only
i remember everybody looked HUGE and i felt out of place
until i saw the pics and i blew everybody out the water

as it ended up....after the show, i had about 100 people
tell me i would have had Frankie boy by the balls....lol

oh well.....i learned a lesson at my first show

never judge someone backstage, or judge someone with their clothes on
it ALL means dick until you get on stage

I have a very similar story.
Well I compeated in a novice this year as my first show and had the promoter I should do the open. I thought he just wanted more money out of me! It wasn't till after the show looking at the pictures that I was finally convinced that inshould have done it. Haha thanks for posting ur story makes me feel better!
