No other drugs were mentioned at this time but they said tune in to Nancy Grace for a full breakdown tonight. Benoit’s body contained 10 times the normal level of testosterone, which appeared to have been injected shortly before he died, as well as the anti-anxiety drug Xanax and the painkiller hydrocodone, authorities said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Benoit tested negative for alcohol.

The press conference has concluded and the results are in for the Benoit family toxicology reports. Georgia Chief Medical Examiner Kriss Sperry gave the details. First, a few hilights:

- All 3 of them had the anti-anxiety drug Xanex in their system . It was concluded that Deniel Benoit was sedated by the drug before his death.

- There were NO anabolic steroids found in Chris Benoit. He had elevated testosterone levels but that could be a result of many things. There was NO ROID RAGE.

Here is the full breakdown of the press conference and the toxicology findings:

Nancy Benoit had 3 different drugs in her system at the time of death. Hydrocodone (also known as Mortab, Morset) were found at 120 micrograms per liter. Hydromorphone, directly from the breakdown of the Hydrocodone, was also found. Finally, the anti-anxiety drug Xanex wss present at 23 micrograms per liter. All 3 drugs were found at the theraputic level - not toxic levels. Her blood alcohol level was 0.184.

Daniel Benoit's blood tested positive for Xanex at 100 micrograms per liter, which is an elevated. What is interesting about this fact is that the drug Xanex was not prescribed to Daniel and is typically not prescribed to children. Based upon this finding, it is their opinion that Daniel was sedated by Xanex at the time of his murder.

Chris Benoit tested positive for Xanex at 50 micrograms per liter. He also tested positive for Hydrocodone at 45 micrograms per liter. Both of these drugs were within the therapeutic range and not toxic.

As far as steroids ..... Chris Benoit's urine tested positive for the "steroid" testosterone at 207 micrograms per liter. The elevated level of testosterone his urine were the ONLY "steroids" present in Chris Benoit. No anabolic steroids were found.

Testosterone is found in everyone - in much higher levels in men than women. The medical examiner concluded that there is no way of telling whether Benoit's elevated testosterone was a result of recent steroid use. He called it a "mystery" - but said that Benoit may have been treated for a testosterone deficiency - a side effect of past steroid abuse.

The drug GHB was not found in any 3 of the individuals.

There is NO indication that ANYTHING found in Chris Benoit's system directly contributed to his violent behavior that weekend. THERE WAS NO ROID RAGE.

The drugs found in all 3 bodies were at therapeutic - NOT toxic levels. The medical examiner also said that the decomposition of the bodies may have affected the level of alcohol in Nancy's bod.

10 times the normal level, if the body makes 10mg a day, wouldn't 1 ml of test more than accomplish that? Or is this an over-simplification? How much test do you need to take to get 10x the normal level? just curious.....

I'm still curious what toxicology would find to prove "roid rage" How does one prove this???

Considering the "normal" range is ~298 to 1043 ng/dl of blood ( according to the androgel insert), was his level 10 x 298 or 10 x 1043? Makes a big difference. Unfortunately that hasn't been mentioned.

Not trying to flame you. It just seems obvious the authorities would check for this considering AAS etc was found in the house.

I agree my endocrinoligist would think that's a huge amount, but would everyone on this board agree? I'm not sure how much you would have to inject to be in the 3k range but I doubt it would take a lot.

Personally I use 250mg/wk and my levels are in the 1000 - 1500 range. Not that extreme, about what an adolescent would have. I'd guess around 500 - 1000 mg would get most in the 10X range. (Assuming we're talking about the lower end of the normal range).

All this doesn't explain the news reports of the doc prescribing massive amounts either. Or the presence of alcohol in the wife. 0.184 BAC is rather intoxicated. That's over twice the current legal limit for drunk driving. I expected he would have had alcohol present due to his prior history, not his wife.

An interesting mystery for sure.

This is going to have a huge impact on our gear world. The history of gear is going to be looked at as two different era's...the PRE-Benoit scandal and Post-Benoit scandal. Things are going to get real difficult. I wish this hadn't happened.

They said he passed the WWE test. Who cares, its a joke anyways, you can be 10:1 and still pass it. They don't fail the big stars anyways, they make an example out of a few jobbers to make it look like they have a legit testing policy. He had things going on his life with them fighting over financial matters and his sons dwarfism. He almost divorced years ago also, so it wasn't due to roids.

I wonder what he bought from Signature pharmacy? I know his doc wasn't shy about prescribing painkillers. He put Johhny Grunge down doing 70 pills a day they said. His script was for 700 pills. Looks like he's fucked.

guys!!! it doesnt matter how much test he had in his system!!! he was a frickin nut case....steroids do not make you kill your wife and son. millions of people each year use them and they dont kill other people. how many death each year are related to alcohol and tobacco??? tens of thousands. we need to get our focus on the right things and knock off the sensationalism of AAS.
