I totally overlooked that part.
OP, you need to have a word with your source lol

and why would a doc NOT tell you what he did when yr test level, even being way too low on a gram, is still 3 times higher than normal?
or is this thread a joke and i fell for it by replying.
It may take finasteride 6 months for someone with normal TEST levels but guarantee with your levels it will help very quickly.
How old are you?

via physical mean could be normalish, could be slightly enlarged, could be very enlarged... means very little to me.
Get it checked via MRI, check PSA. Go from there.
I was on 500 for a time and changed to 1000. Not sure if my bloods were done when on 500 or 1000....may have been when I was 500 a week.
What range should they be at for 500 or 1000 a week?
Told me it was very enlarged...close to double due to testosterone use...giving a urinalysis later today. He already has my bloods as my GI Dr and Primary Care are at the same facility and I did them a few weeks ago. They all have access to my files.
How bad is your urine flow stream affected? I would think that if it is 2x the normal size that you would be having trouble urinating. You should have a PSA done, and should have one each year to watch the trend of how it is going up or down.
How long have you been on 500mg-1000mg? The body does need a break from blast levels. You said you wanna get on TRT, you already have test, PUT YOURSELF ON TRT! That`s first step. Being late 40`s and likely on gear for quite some time, coming off completely is not a gfreeood idea. Tapering off or down is a waste of effort, just cut the dose or just come off. Tapering is for when there will be withdrawal symptoms from physically addicting drugs.
If you are like me, I had trouble urinating and found myself getting up in the middle of the night about 5 times.
I was having this same problem. Reduced my test to TRT doses and added 10mg Cialis/day. Now I get up to pee at most 2x night.
My PSA was 0.93 which is in the normal range.
Yes I noticed trouble intermittently urinating, but wasn't sure if it was from developing IBS some months back..so I followed up with a Urologist.
I'm going to taper off and/or down as well as get my prostate in normal range size, however, I wanted to do it under Dr supervision and get on Test replacement therapy as well as get my bloods monitored.
I'm looking for another Dr as this guy was horrible....especially upset me when he called me Mr Drugs when I suggested a PCT instead of crashing cold turkey as he suggested.
I dont feel comfortable trusting him.
Flomax did the trick for me. Im already taking 100 mg/wk tesosterone so cant really reduce that. My PSA was up around 4.0. Its down to around 2 now. Always been on the high side.
I could have gone that route but after I tried Cialis and got some relief I just stuck with it vs. going to my PCP and getting on another scrip med. The effect it has on my BP was a nice benefit. So much so that I tappered of my Amlodipine (off now about a month). BP's now consistently low 130's over mid/upper 80's which I'm happy with. May look into Lisinopril later if I feel I need tighter control. I've been doing 10-15mg/day test for awhile now and feel it was one of the best decisions this older guy ever made.
Fire him and hire another doctor.
It sucks you still have to pay for the interview process but unless you really like the guy get another opinion.
