Testosterone blood level

I recently had my testosterone levels checked - 33 yr old male.

The doctor told me that my reading was 18.5 & that the range for testosterone levels is between 8 & 28.

I have looked a little on Google. However, I was wondering if a knowledgeable bro might be so kind as to take a moment to explain this to me.

It means that someone took an average (mean), took two standard deviations on either side and used them as book-ends for an overall reference range. This means that you are right in the middle of the population distribution.

Total testosterone range is : 428
Total FREE testosterone is: 21.4

mine is 1,53 ng/ml so its the same as 153 ?? that is low
