different kinds of human body fat
people guessing body weight is comical. did anyone see mountaindogs bodyfat test on youtube? he's completely fucking shredded to the bone, stage ready....he came out at 4 or 6%. if you think the op is 10% your high!
wizim; a good place to start a discussion. Thank you
While I agree with you in general terms, I think it important
to understand (as I’m sure you do) the different types and
location of body fat.
In human beings, there is brown fat, white fat, subcutaneous
fat, and visceral fat. (There may be others, I am simplifying,
not an expert.)
There is no denying that John Meadows is incredibly lean
and muscular. But numbers do not tell the entire story. One
can and may have higher numbers that an image of them might
portray or conversely have lower numbers, that to a seasoned
eye might seem inappropriate.
If you are only interested in numbers (which in my opinion are
for the most part meaningless unless you are comparing
yourself to yourself at another point in time), it all comes
down to visceral fat; the fat that is not seen, but is essential.
That fat that is stored within the abdominal cavity and around
a number of important internal organs such as the liver,
pancreas and intestines.
One can have a large amount of visceral fat, look lean and fit,
but in all actuality have an unnecessarily high and unhealthy
amount of visceral fat. So the ‘numbers’ can work for you and
against you. That is why calibers are very good (when used
correctly, which is to say rarely) for appearance and not so good
as they tell you nothing about visceral fat. Know your tool would
be my advice.
This is where BMI is totally effed’ up. But that is another topic
for discussion.
The removal of subcutaneous body fat is a fickle thing. I think we
all remember seeing images of the starved in the concentration
camps at the conclusion of WWII. Many men, women and children
still had belly fat while what remained of their body was skin and
bones. Very sad but true.
And yes, the OP’s fotos are horrible (but who am I to judge?) . . .
fotos that make an accurate assessment of body fat % is virtually
impossible as they only tell part of the story. See above.
My opinion is to try to not play the ‘numbers game’. The mirror,
the way your clothes fit or don’t fit (they do not change) is your
friend or my case the enemy
Hoping i slipped under 10%. What is the guess on bf right now? Thank you in advance gentlemen. 24 yrs old 5'8 183
I have no clue. Your age, height or weight are meaningless in my opinion. Sorry, but you are welcome non the less . . .
