Its sad they had to put that 2nd. place horse to sleep after it broke it legs..

Yeah damn shame they had to put eight belles to sleep. Broke both her front ankles slowing down around the first turn after the race was over. heartbreaking to see a magnificent animal like that have to be put down.

Yeah I watched a clip on ESPn this mornign while on the treadmill and got all teary eyed listening to her traininer and owner...

She was a 1 year old filly racing with all the boys and held her own....Its pretty sad...

These horses are bread to have light bone structure so they can run faster. They're at a higher risk from birth to break bones. You reep what you sow..if you breed a horse to have light bone structure then expect the damages.
