yeah that's where my thinning has taken place, up front and from side hair line.

got finasteride otw from hims, been using the rogaine daily for few days now am and pm.

I will look into getting a needling pen, can it just ben any old pen off amazon?

I got one from Dr Pen but you can get them pretty cheap from eBay or Amazon (same brand, and I don't think for our purpose the model matters very much)

No idea if there's a difference, but with this one you can control the needle depth

And you definitely don't need to change cartridge nearly as much as recommended; I might do it once a month or every other month (it's not like the needles get noticeably dull, or you can tell the difference when you put on a new cartridge)

who has had success with finasteride or minoxidil? and did you have any sides?

I started receding a year ago, its not that bad but want to stop it and see if reversal is possible!

I do both finasteride and oral minoxidil. No side effects at all. I started once I noticed diffuse thinning. The regimen has held the line (which was largely my goal) with some modest improvement.

I have started Minoxidil topical and have finasteride from hims otw, hope to stop the thinning and reverse it, that's the goal, I won't be running any dht derivative compounds either, good ole TRT and call it a day.

just stick with TRT and keep lifting weights

You're not wrong - It's a small-molecule drug, so definitely a great candidate for the black market.

The problem has been finding the secret sauce. They've used the Markush Structure loophole, so finding the exact molecular formula has been next to impossible. But as they close in on Phase 3 this year, they'll eventually have to submit applications for USAN and INN. I suspect 2026 to 2028 at the latest for that.

Would anyone consider a "Hair System" ? (aka known as a wig FFS )

When I first saw a man wearing a modern wig a couple of years ago, I thought to myself never in a million years would I be caught dead wearing a wig, what a stupid and vain thing for a man to do.

But why not? Many women wear wigs and fake weaves for their entire life. Plus, a slim muscular man still looks good after he takes the wig off, women yea not so much.

I mean, is this actually any worse than getting a hair transplant where they butcher and permanently scar the harvest area in the back of your head? And knowing that the transplanted hair will still eventually fall out? And might fall out immediately if they did a terrible job or you just had shitty hair genetics?

I haven't personally considered it, but I don't see a damn thing wrong with it. As long as you properly maintain it (keep the bio hair cut and the system from fading), they're practically undetectable. And who cares? Do what makes you happy. Dudes get tattoos, piercings, and all sorts of vanity-related things done without batting an eye because they like it. So, do whatever you like. They're just expensive - Arguably more than a hair transplant in the long term. Though (according to Spencer Kobren, who I'd consider an authority on the topic), 7/10 hair transplants end in disappointment (or disfigurement). Not everyone is a candidate, and results aren't quite as miraculous as everyone always makes them out to be, but they're always willing to sell you the dream.

And for the dudes who say, "just shave it, bro"... No
