The "good teeth" thread - cheap alternative to Invisalign, and other things..

Do you have veneers? I do and I would never ever in a million fucking years suggest veneers to anyone. Do whatever it takes to fix the teeth you have instead letting some hack grind your teeth down to nubs and put fake shit on top of them that will eventually fall off and you’ll never be able to replace with the exact same. Not to mention all the agony that comes with that….

I’m also currently using cheap trays on my bottom teeth that a dentist friend made that had a 3D printer….getting incredible results I wish this shit was around when I had my god damn veneers done instead.

Modern dentistry is a scam cash grab, your barber used to be your dentist.
Yes I do, they can last up to 30 years and then you redo them.
Only money is the headache here but I'm sure in 20-30 years technology will advance

Not quite. Just regular braces, silver metal. They just switched wires every so often from a lighter guage to a bigger guage and tightened them. Hurts a bit for a couple days then you get used to it. The food getting stuck is a pain. Thank god they invented water flossers. I have one at home and one at the office, have to spray out the food after every meal, hate that feeling of food being stuck. I'm almost done, couple months left. The one good thing about masks mandates is that I covered up braces lol.

Didn't need braces when I was a kid. Then my dentist noticed that I was grinding my teeth (and chipped the front one). Turns out that I wasn't grinding at all, they were just smashing together whenever I ate.
I had those too, but also the lil apparatus that shifts your teeth over. It was mounted to my upper molars like I mentioned. And the orthodontist would insert a key into it and twist it. Which puts extra tension on your teeth. Hated that thing!!!! Glad you ain’t gotta deal with that shit.

They won’t last 30 years and when you go to replace the one that broke they will tell you it’s impossible to match the rest and you’ll have to get a whole new set which won’t last nearly as long as the original set. No amount of technology will be able to fix it that you have nubs instead of teeth, eventually you’ll end up with crowns and then just straight implants….or dentures.

I just went through this disaster, they lasted 15 years and now I have two crowns for two front teeth because I didn’t want to re-do the whole set and I’m constantly worried about biting into anything hard.

Dang it man!
Well I'm fucked in this case and pray technology will be better in 15 years. I got 10 last year for 15k

God damn you got fucken killed on them too! Fuck I wish you had made a thread about it I would have warned you, how about I was told it was a miracle mine even lasted as long as they did some people break them or have them fall off in just a few years....

I went ahead and just got it bonded this morning. It's still not perfect, but it looks a little bit better. Screenshot_20220309-103211-706.png

Oral surgeon here;
Your dentist is scamming you by up-selling treatment. He's trying to get you to purchase invisalign treatment.
If you're happy with the alignment of your teeth, find a different dentist who will simply fix the chip. It's a very easy, cheap fix. It may chip again over time depending on your habits (teeth grinding, etc.), but even if you need to get the bonding replaced 5 times in the next 15 years, the cost won't be anywhere near what Invisalign would cost.
Tell your dentist to just bond it and that you understand it may chip in the future. Or find a new dentist. This is very routine stuff and happens multiple times daily in each dental office.
Don't mean to high-jack but do you recommend Invisalign for any teeth straightening? I got braces in my 30's but failed to use the retainer and they have moved some. At 50, I don't want to do braces again if possible.

Absolutely. Invisalign is excellent. If I were you, I'd have an orthodontist do the treatment. They're able to make quick mid- treatment tweaks that most general dentists can't.

I'll set up an appointment. I should have used the retainers but they were plastic and broke quick. They wanted $300 to replace when they had the molds. This was 15 years ago too. I will look into the Invisalign and wear my retainers this time!!

I did Invisalign and it worked great. Wasn't cheap but wasn't crazy expensive either.

When I first got into lifting, my goal was to become buff and sexy so the women wanted me. That was when I was 15. I'm 32 now, much more mature. My reason now is that I want to... Be buff and sexy so that women want me.

What I didn't realize originally was that muscles are a small factor in the equation. As my attention has gone to other areas (my career and finances, my skin health, my fashion, etc), I've recently noticed that my teeth could use a little improving as well.

My smile is pretty good and white actually, but one of my front teeth is slightly chipped and it just messes with the symmetry enough to bother me. So I went to the dentist to see about getting a filling, and they told me the issue was my bite = my upper and lower teeth touch each other perfectly, so the tips grind each other. Before they fix the chipped tooth, the bit needs to be fixed, or else more grinding and chipping will happen.

So I did my research and found a cheap alternative to Invisalign. It's only $895 total for the entire treatment from impressions through retainers. The company is called alignerco. I went ahead and pulled the trigger just now.

I figured I'd make thread about it in case any of you are interested in teeth health, improving your smile, etc. I was surprised you could get invisible braces for that cheap, and it would be cool if someone here wanted them/needed them but hasn't pulled the trigger because the name brand companies are too expensive.

I figure this thread could also function as a source for any and all teeth related content as well.

For example, teeth whitening, etc.
ok so what is the company u went thru? shit for that price ill jump on board in a heartbeat...i have a row that are summer teeth, some are here, some ae there, some are everywhere....gotta ditch these sommer teeth quickly...then leave my wife for some ho's..... or just get a lot of sides next to the main course muhahahah

oh and need a doc as well so i an hang like a porn star.... stretches dont work...and it hurts ill go the surgery route for that too...

@slayer37 Are you familiar with Mike Mew? Obviously it's too late for anyone posting in this thread to utilize his modalities. But the topic seems fascinating.

Always had great teeth get compliments. A few cavities over the years, a root canal and crown in the back.

Had some pain so saw dentist. Apparently my back bottom tooth that has a crown needs a root canal then new crown? Was it not installed right? Disappointing. So now 2 appointments needed a root canal this week then new crown in a few weeks. Have insurance but hear they are expensive.

Kind of on topic, kind of not. Anyone in this thread been doing GH for many years and notice your jaw line, facial structure seems to change and your teeth getting crooked as a result? I look at pictures over the years and I swear I can see a difference .
