I think the difference here is that most board members planned to have children with their wives..... this article is mostly about 'unprepared' parents, meaning people that were careless and had children they didn't want in the first place.
Children take serious time and money to raise correctly in this country, and not many people are really in a position to do that, IMO.
I think it is hard enough for the middle class to raise children, so the poor have literally zero chance, IMO.
I think that I make a fairly decent income, yet I do not feel I am in a position to have children. It is my personal opinion that to raise a child in this screwed up country, you need a lot of money for good day care, private school, and then college. That may be a warped view to some, but my children will not go to some shit public school where they will be potentially subjected to violence, only to receive a sub par education.
My sister and her husband both work, and struggle badly to pay their mortgage and raise their two children. It's getting harder and harder to do anything in this country.
