Recently qualified for the National level. And, if everything goes right, will be doing the North Americans this year (competing in the Masters class).

Can anyone offer any tips, insight, etc. going into this ? Would be greatly valued, as well as appreciated. Thank you.

Just because you qualify for a national show doesn’t mean you’re ready for one. Best advice anyone could give IMO.

Have you ever traveled for a show? Regardless of the level, that’s a big change in the overall experience.

Agree with @bbxtreme…there is a difference between a show promoter encouraging doing a Pro Qualifier vs the judges

As said above, its unfortunate that most of these national qualifying shows dont really mean someone is qualified. The competition quality is way down and numbers as well. Best to post some pictures for an honest critique/feedback. Most of the people that come to me for coaching and tell me they are qualified and plan are doing a national level show, I have to shoot down on that. Its big investment to do that level of show, especially if not truly ready for it.

Damn, his coach took him for a ride. What’s fucked up is he actually qualified with this level of conditioning, and musculature.

He was getting honest feedback and a lot of members here were actually trying to help the dude out, but he didn’t want to hear any of it. B-Boy was attempting to help him (for free btw), but he just stood in his own way. Some people just can’t be helped.

He competed again in the NPC Iron City in November. He placed last - fourth - in heavyweight but somehow they still gave him a medal.

Even worse is he's doing personal training at a gym in Tennessee. He should be paying others to teach him, not having people pay him to ruin their bodies.

Cmon you guys are being tough… it was the winstrol.

But seriously, there are guys like him at every NPC show. And they do nothing but run their damn mouth backstage and think they are the best there. Then when they lose they throw a fit and talk shit about how they were robbed. Sad part is, they believe it.
