The National Level

it's not sad - they are just mentally disabled
So true… what cracks me up more is that they’re the ones also eating the donuts while doing vodka shots prior to getting on stage. That secret peak week shit. 😂

He was getting honest feedback and a lot of members here were actually trying to help the dude out, but he didn’t want to hear any of it. B-Boy was attempting to help him (for free btw), but he just stood in his own way. Some people just can’t be helped. 🤷
Damn thats even worse. Well maybe throwing a show and an opportunity woke him up. You can lead a horse to water…

I think you guys scared the OP away lol
To be fair, how can someone come in here talking about doing a national show and not post pics when asking for advice? I think most guys are just tired of wasting their time trying to help people that are full of shit. Not saying that’s what’s going on here but it happens more than it should.

If I said I was getting ready for a national show or claimed to be anything spectacular, I’d have no problem posting a pic when asking for advice or critiques. I already have posted pics but that’s just to show I’m not some fat loser larping as a bodybuilder for whatever reason people like that have. If you look bad, post a pic to get honest feedback to improve. If you look great, post a pic for honest feedback and to show that you know what you’re doing. A pic is just for credibility. People act like you’re asking for their SS#, address and mother’s maiden name.

Has there ever been a regular member who’s been busted because they posted a photo of their physique on Professional Muscle?

I think I’ll go hang out at some of the supercar forums and talk about my stable of lambos, mclarens, and buggatis but refuse to ever post a pic of them… because I definitely have them. Just trust me bro.

No, I'm still here lol. Haven't been scared away yet. Just taking in the comments, learning what I can.

Would like to clear up some things though.

Yes, I qualified. But I never stated that I *was qualified. Meaning, I never stated that I feel that I should be on that National stage. Stated that " if everything goes right ... " ... which is one of the reasons I came to this forum ... to perhaps learn about the " rights " and " wrongs ", etc.

Regarding pics ... guys lol ... not to be rude, but I didn't come here wanting critique on my physique. I would've stated as such. Besides, I have a coach for that.

I only came here to learn from more experienced competitors.

That's all.

If that hurts my credibility, then so be it lol.

You got the replies you did not because you didn’t post a picture but because you didn’t actually ask anything. If you would have had specific questions then you would have been taking a lot more serious.

What do you need tips on? What do you think might be different about competing “nationally” vs competing locally? What do you need to go right? Finances, health, bigger shoulders, etc?

You aren’t ready for a National show. And call me a dick for being so blunt, but here’s why-

ANY bodybuilder who has a National Stage worthy physique would not even hesitate and post a pic to back up their post.

Feel free to prove me wrong and not hating, just saving everyone a lot of time as no, you won’t have any credibility here without one. But to your point, just read here and learn. It’s how every member should start until they are a hardcore bodybuilder who can post a pic showing they live, eat and breathe this.

I get asked this question in person at least a few times a year. Granted it’s generally younger guys wanting to get their pro card in men’s physique or classic physique. My general advice is you should be able to train with and stand next to current pros in the division you are competing and not look out of place. If you have to ask if you’re ready for a National show and your goal is winning or at the very least a top placing then you aren’t ready.

Bingo

theres a member here now who likes to CONSTANTLY claim “ i placed top 5 at nationals“, but ignores every post that makes an inquiry about that contest. Also likes to switch usernames and personas every few years once people get wise to his bullshit.

just put “top 5 at nationals” in the board search engine, you’ll see him
I believe this user also brags about their daily alcohol use up the show, so I wouldn’t have too high expectations unfortunately.

If you're qualified and you want to do it, do it.

At a national masters show, you'll be see some of the best physiques you've ever seen in real life. And people that don't look like they belong.

It's a hassle to travel. It's expensive to find accommodation such that you can get all of your food. It's often long days. Stage time can be rushed depending on the number of competitors. The shows aren't necessarily any better run than a big local show. Tickets for friends and family are pricey.

But only you can decide if it's something you want to do. If you're not ready to compete at that level, they won't tell you no. They'll gladly take your money and give you your t-shirt.
